As much as youā€™re trolling, you could take the 3 secs to see that I have played wow consistently on a higher level than you and have my 262 leggo. KSM 2 weeks ago.

Enjoy, FF is a horribly slow game with graphics a 10 year old made. Itā€™s boringā€¦ take care

The complete game (with all current expansions, sans Endwalker) is 24$. Good thing is if youā€™re like me on the Free Trial, the key never expires so you can just continue on your free trial as much as you want and/or finish the story to the end and then activate the key so you can get the 1 month free sub, and Stormbringer + Shadowbringers.

Honestly a steal considering Shadowbringers alone is 50$ when its not on sale.

I would have normally left a similar snarky commentā€¦but the mods have left this up for 6 hours even though it is one of the most blatant advertisements I have seen.

So at this point I have admitted defeatā€¦if Blizzard is ok with FF14 openly advertising on their forums, who am I to disagree

Iā€™m having trouble with this. I had a steam free account but when I bought FF Windows version last night, I bought it from SE site so now, I canā€™t input the activation key because the steam account keeps popping up in the mog station and says I have to buy the game through them so I uninstalled steam and now thereā€™s just nothing.

So I bought it but canā€™t activate it. Iā€™ve looked everywhere on SE sites for an answer to this.

Any suggestions?

The gameā€™s client system is really dumb.

Thereā€™s licenses for each client type

Retail from SE
Steam
PS5
Xbox One (pending)

The account can be played on any, but you need specific client routes.

So since you started with Steam, you need to buy the Steam version, not the Windows version.

Itā€™s the complete SE version, that deal they had going on for 24.99.

When your buddy bought the Windows version from SE, did he have trouble getting the game installed?

Where Iā€™m confused is that itā€™s got me going in circles, keeps referring me to steam but itā€™s a Windows version of the game and it doesnā€™t proceed with either install or launch from Windows so I uninstalled steam thinking that would help.

It didnā€™t. I hope this made sense. Iā€™m confused.

Seems you need to pick just one and stick with it.

Perhaps try to get a refund on the Windows version and just get the Steam version.

Or start over with just the Windows version with a new account.

Again, their client system is poop. Biggest complaint about them.

EDIT: Apparently he still buys the steam version, he just uses some bypass to get around using Steam launcher. Sorry for confusion.

Itā€™s okay & tyvm. Confusion seems to be the thing today.

Iā€™m trying to start over by deleting/uninstalling everything but Iā€™m finding that if you use steam, the files are installed in a variety of places which makes it take a lot longer.

Iā€™d read through those reddit threads on it for more information.

To be clear, unless you start over on a new account with new characters and email etc., youā€™re stuck on Steam forever now.
