The pve combat is more fun than wow. Wow pve combat is just boring in 2022., but i still like pvp more in wow so i will stay for the pvp.
Have you ever played wow?
Does it actually get better?
Iāve put about 5 hours in, went in not expecting much either way, but I just get the feeling itās designed for people who donāt actually want to play a game. I like how the combat looks, but it just feels empty as nothing really presents a challenge for you so far, and the quests feel like theyāre over as soon as you start them. And Iām not quite sure what the point of choosing the base class is if you go straight to the advanced class before you actual play anything. I was hoping it might be something to throw in the rotation, but it just feels like going through the motions.
Boss fights are pretty engaging end game, the killing the mobs is just chilled out and kind of enjoyable and the dungeons are pretty good for a isometric game.
5 hours in is pretty early on content, thats like saying a leveling dungeon is difficult.
Yeah, but itās still 5 hours. This is the time to show me what youāve got, not bore me. Itās not like I was just sitting around. Right now the mobs are just kinda tedious and not worth fighting as you get no xp from them. I went in a bit hopeful, and not expecting some great challenge or souls combat (Iād be doomed if it was that) just a little more variety and a little more threat.
Even if you played wow for 5 hours you wouldnt hit any difficult content. Pretty sure for a new wow player it might take like weeks just to hit end game for some difficult content.
If you wanna see what the content is like at end game just look at some end game raids. Its alright for a top down game.
No, but you have to pay attention in that time in wow.
Not saying itās the worst, just a bit underwhelming and feels like it could be a lot better with some minor changes to the start. Just feels weird that it seems like a waste of time to farm mobs at the beginning, so you just run past everything to the quest, which is finished very quickly. Itās a diablo ish game, seems weird to not be encouraged to kill everything you run across.
It feelsā¦ like a strange mix of Diablo and Ragnarok online.
So far its fun! No idea Iāll stick with it long term yet, but certainly a fresh vibe.
8 gb of ram is rough on this game. I need to upgrade lol.
I put several hours into Lost Ark and here are my pros/cons so far:
Pros:
- F2p
- Flashy ARPG combat
Cons:
- So far everything feels like a tutorial
- Fighting enemies largely feels like a waste of time
- Quests seem to be over before you realize theyāve begun
- It does not feel like an MMO unless you count the chat being spammed by gold sellers.
Where is my freedom of exploration? So far everything is super linear and if I donāt do the quests I barely earn any experience and it seems like you have to do them in order, no skipping ahead.
Maybe it gets better later, but thatās a big ask for a game that Iāve got zero invested in.
I was thinking about it today, and I know itās like 5-6 years old for the Korean/Russian version, this really feels like after a few years they streamlined the starting experience so people can get into it faster and they just left it that way at the launch for the rest of the world
About the grind in both games:
I like raiding in WoW. Everytime there is a new system put in place that you need to play through for your play power my sentiment towards it is: āOh well, lets get it over withā. Im not enthusiastic about it, its just something that feels like a chore and im relieved once its done and i can do the part that i actually like about the game.
Now, after playing LA, i cant freaking wait to see all those islands and trying to grind out the island hearts, giants hearts, adventurers codex etc.
Is that just me? Is it because it is new? But if it is, then why am i not excited for systems in WoW when theyre new?
Is it perception or is the gameplay just more fun to me?
Im not sure why exactly the grind in WoW is so boring to me, while at the same time i really want to get back home and get to grinding in LA.
Iāve played it for a lil bit over the weekend. Through a few zones and heading towards Luterraās leg of the journey is.
I am playing a sorceress. Itās flashy. I dislike the gender lock, but eh. Itās kind of fun at times, but while I like the paradigm of a bunch of little fodder getting exploded making things feel like I AM fighting masses on occasion is nice.
I donāt mind click to move, as Iām used to it in Diablo. And never had a problem with it. But I got to say, it feels a bit silly that Iām just getting on my horse, riding to the quest objectives. And completing them after killing a single group so often. I feel like I spend 95% of my time traveling. I can say that at times, Iāve felt like quests/objectives in WoW have drug on for way too long, this seems to be the opposite of that. It feels like Iām barelyā¦doing anything.
And killing monsters is pointless since they give no experience functionally. Iāll still play through the story mind you. But it just feels off. I feel like Iām being rushed by someone, while alone.
Just the whole travel to play time ratio seems waaaaaay off. I have been enjoying soloāing ādungeonsā though. Those are fun so far.
Big fan of the āsecret dungeonsā you need a map for and then to find the location. I found that enjoyable.
That might be it, things are already made to work for an existing player base, so new players are getting a different experience than originally intended.
It just feels wrong to start at level 10, have a bunch of flashy skills right away and yet combat seems like an afterthought to the quest/story experience.
I really like your mog. Great job.
Pros: For the people that like it, its fun.
Cons: For the people that dont like it, it sucks.
Why doesnāt Lost Ark face more ridicule for putting all of its players in gender locked characters where they are forced to play a women with plastic surgery in high heels if they want to play a class like a mage and why would Amazon allow it.
Game already in a nosedive and itās been a little more than a week
Lost Ark cons:
Each tier takes about 3 years of dailies to max out in the systems, but tiers only last 1 year. Paid boosts are so powerful that you can max out any tier for about $600. Which way do you think Smilegate wants you to play?
Lost Ark pros:
Canāt see them under the shadow of the con(s)
Not on Xbox, so Iām not playing it.
This is the only PC game I run, on my Linux āpotatoā computer.
