My bad, sry. I thought you were directly referring to the game, where there are only male and female options. I somehow missed the part about the plugin.
Games always take the path of least resistance on this though and just call everyone “hero” or “our friend here” or “they”.
I don’t really care at all if a game offers the choice to choose (a little cringe but whatever you know), but they almost always just put something generic in.
They still get mocked for spending time making a selfie camera and that wasn’t nearly as much of a stupid waste of time.
I even proved that there are pronoun usages in the game, at least in Classic (but, Wrath Classic is no more, and I haven’t tested Cata Classic nor am I interested in it), and it’d be cool if TRP3 was already a feature in the game, for people to put in their pronouns (if they want, it’s completely optional) and character backstories.
It’s like a game of DnD except I’m unable to share my backstory with other players who aren’t on RP Servers WITH the TRP3 addon T_T
Plus, other people’s stories are just as cool. I love reading other people’s TRPs
Which you think would satisfy people, but it actually doesn’t, because while they reject the societal construct of gender, they simultaneously must be referred to as the opposite traditional gender pronoun that was previously assign to the body type they are playing.
That’s exactly why I’m not on an RP server with the TRP3 addon.
Cheers to Blizzard for making separate RP servers!
What about a compromise, we only use Bronouns. All pronouns are replaced with “Bro” regardless of the gender.
Dudenouns here. Dude! Sup!?
You won’t get to read about all the fires Rita started in Suramar after you stinking nightborne got my help and didn’t join the Alliance
Bro, right bro?
I’m antinoun persons, places, and things were a mistake.
some talents used to say her or he despite what gender your character was (before shadowlands) it was actually crazy weird
Broseidon, Lord of the Brocean, First of his name. bumps fist and nods bro-ly
It’s my pleasure to make your broquaintance.
What about stating biological facts makes people awful?
I was checking out some .gov site a while back.
Honestly, I assumed being a gov website theyd have a pronoun list.
Nope…basically was Male, Female, Other.
I think many are realizing if they start adding to the list its gonna get way too overwhelming at a point.
Wasnt there like up wards of 100 pronouns already?
Im sorry, just cant keep up with that given I dont know how to ID any of them by looks.
Im gonna be honest I think more people here have an opinion on this then read quest texts.
Ive leveled through mop the first time and seven times now in remix. I can’t tell you anything about a non voiced npc beyond what turn in they want. For all I know this is already in effect. I only recall being referred to as hero, mawalker, wakener, champion of late
- RP is still optional even on RP servers.
- Don’t have to fill it out, most of my DnD friends, never do.
- TRP3 offers more than just that. I like changing how my name appears, when I type in Trade, Guild, Party, etc. There’s even a Unit Frame extension, where I can decorate my portrait, to make me look like a rare. Only I see my edited portrait, though. I don’t even think those with TRP3 can see my edited portrait, but I haven’t tested it, yet. IK we can see each other’s colorful names (but, you can turn it off, if you wish). TRP3 is completely customizable.
Bro that’s harsh Bro
Why say it this way?
They are biophilic.
We just need to separate word choice from appearance to come to this agreement.
Im neither here nor there about any of this…really dont care in any way…but wouldnt a solution to this be instead of some list somewhere, instead players add their pronouns to the characters name?
I think we should be asking for longer names…or surnames, something…instead of trying to figure out how to make a list of all current pronouns.
Doing it that way means if someone makes up their own new one, they can just use it immediately by putting it in their characters name
