Maybe they can add pronouns as parentheticals after our names!
Why would I do that? I don’t care about pronouns, just like I don’t care whether there’s a spider toggle.
features in the game that some people might like, but don’t affect me. not a bad comparison at all.

I would love it if TRP3 was an already implemented feature of our character sheet. So, everyone can see our character backstories (and pronouns). Problem solved.

Yeah, I really don’t get some players.
Like if pronouns exist in settings, like they do in Starfield, you can use them . . . or ignore them. Like I did in Starfield
then I ignored the game because it was a big fat wad of disappointment
Personally, I do find delight in being awful, but only when it’s profitable. My character should have been a goblin. Mwahahaha!
They’re great addon options and allow for a lot more than just using pronouns of choice.

How long should it take to realistically implement this? Is it worth potential backlash if they do or don’t?
In FF14, there are male and female options, and that’s it. Even in the character select screen, you have the choice between male and female. NPCs avoid saying your name in spoken cutscenes, but they do address you as either a man or a woman with the corresponding pronouns.
You could just not concern yourself with worrying about whether the way people present themselves is a “lie” or not.
But then again

seems like any time i visit here it’s full of people generating threads like these. or the litany of other threads full of people hating the cinematic because they’ve already made up their mind on a new character they’ve yet to learn anything about. (To put it one way)

How is it a lie? In his backstory Ali was born femme, he separated himself from that because he did not align with it entirely.
Personally they should make titles gender neutral. If someone wants to have lady or lord as their title, good for them.
Imagine that, and there was me all out of flags for today already anyway.
