Go on then, run the sim without Glyph of Reckoning. That simulates it, ignoring the quality of life paladins got from proccing Seal of Vengeance from special attacks.
The sim is in the ICC projections found here:
https://tinyurl.com/iccprojections
(hint: just removing the glyph takes ret down by ~1075 dps at 15475. That’s below blood DKs. That’s middle of the pack. There is absolutely no reason to take a ret at that point, much less give him a Shadowmourne to hit that point, cause the other specs that bring 3% damage bring unique utility or better damage)
These projections are just approximations on patchwerk style fights, which basically none in ICC are. They are nigh meaningless. What do you think this even shows that proves your case?
The funny thing is that feral is the most deserving of a the nerf bat, but they ain’t saying anything. Meanwhile, the rets made this entire issue about them, so now everyone hates Ret and wants to see them nerfed.
You are right, ret has basically zero gap closers, so any fight that asks melee to move out of range repeatedly hits them harder than others on top of a lower ideal potential.
It’s not really rets making the issue about them, more people lumping rets in with ferals all the time as examples of bad adjustments when ret needed some.
OK so uh, doesn’t this just nullify your own argument?
Blame the OP for this one.
You’re grasping at stupid straws.
That’s.
Not.
How.
Scaling.
Works.
No classes, or even specs, scale linearly. Stop it. It’s stupid and you should feel really bad for harping on and on and on and on and on about it. It’s ridiculous.
OK but blood does have the luxury of, yanno, picking another spec for dps, even if DKs to seem to fall off a fair bit in ICC.
You can’t just go “ret, you need to spec shadow” here
And as I said, the primary utility you bring rets for is 3% damage and if we’re not competitive with the 2 other specs that bring that utility, you’re just not brought.
According to that link from earlier, Blood DK with SM is basically tied with frost. Probably better, because I am guessing they’re giving UF to the blood dk rather than the Feral Druid. But Warcraft logs contributes the DPS of UF to the DK that cast it, so putting UF on the feral would likely yield slightly more dps for you on logs.
I’d like to have it for tanking personally. Hopefully the guild sticks around long enough for me to get one too.
Blood is already nearly as good as Frost. Here’s a comparison between me and the Frost DK in our raid. Our skill levels are basically the same and the couple times I went Frost in Ulduar we did roughly the same DPS:
Now if you don’t want to count the extra DPS I get from casting UF on a Feral, you can subtract 150-200 DPS off each of those parses because that’s what self-casting will usually cost me. That still leaves Blood close to Frost. WCL data at a glance doesn’t show the actual situation at all. These are the same kills being done by two players with similar skill levels. Anub is the only outlier because Blood loses a lot of DPS during Leeching Swarm (Blood Gorged talent).
