Then why did you even link the thread with a post by Ysithens? Why do you keep telling people that Blizzard already said no to this and no to that if you don’t even trust them? This is such a bizarre mentality, tossing around Blizzard’s confirmed views on things when you don’t even fully believe them in the first place.
Would someone “waste their time” on a “lost cause” pushing for non vanilla QOL convenience changes or non vanilla balance changes if they trusted Blizzard’s word that there would be no balance changes, etc?
I’m not asking for things that were flat out denied. If you haven’t noticed, Blizzard hasn’t said “No-changes”, yet. If a Blue post comes up tomorrow and states there will be no additional graphical options added besides those that were in the demo, I will stop posting in favor of them.
The fact that the demo had updated water and dynamic shadows as well as animated foliage and Blizzard hasn’t even commented on any of that tells me that maybe I shouldn’t be coerced into submission just yet.
If those opposed to non vanilla QOL convenience changes or non vanilla balance changes want to let Blizzard know that they want Blizzard to honor their word, then let them.
May be not you. Graphics dont effect gameplay. But their clearly is other people asking for stuff.
Apocalypse and yourself are some of the more level headed. But have you met ziryus akaidian and saqe?
Sure, absolutely. The reason I suggested Matcauthon to stop arguing is because he constantly states how tired of it he is. I proposed he stop fighting a battle that’s already over.
I may be wrong, but I do not think Mat is tired of the “arguing”. I think Mat is simply tired of the incessant “requests”, “suggestions” and demands for non vanilla changes to Classic.
Mat is quite correct, though. It is far better to continue to use our voices to make our opposition to those incessant “requests”, “suggestions” and demands for non vanilla changes to Classic heard.
We wouldn’t want Blizzard to think we were apathetic in our desire for a truer classic experience, would we?
Then you’ll be arguing till the end of time, because some people will continue to pine for the things they want even if there’s next to zero chance of it happening. There will also be trolls that are doing it to get a rise out of you and it’s at Blizzard’s discretion to determine whether they’re trolling or not.
yeah. because we dont know what the entire purpose of that is. do we?
huh- how about that? i mean, its not like this is about facts or anything. because if that was the case, all of the Q&A’s that have been linked- fixed that problem. but its almost like people are ‘purposely’ not acknowledging those facts. wouldnt you agree?
I have advocated for Dual spec in vanilla and the no change crowd comes in like bunch of frat boys patting each other on the back yet I STILL never got a reply regarding WHY I proposed such changes. I got 1. It wasnt in classic 2. No changes 3. It will break the game (which it wont, you have zero data to prove that it would affect anything) 4. Blizzard has said no to this (which they havent). Never once did someone step up and have an intelligent debate about the subject only deflect, deflect, deflect. I am 99% no changes to classic but I also realize im not 20 years old anymore. I have a family, real obligations and I cant sink 12 hours a day into a game. I’m sure many of you cant either. I have ZERO problems having it the original way. I have ZERO problems paying a fee to respec (you pay the same fee to respec with dual as well!). I proposed a solid argument about poor class design and class mechanics being the catalyst for dual spec. I am still awaiting a respectful and intelligent reply.
How about the impact it would have on the economy.
How about how huge the advantage would be to hybrids to be able to swap specs instantly no matter where they are in the world?
How about the fact that in vanilla your spec was an identity and to be able to just flip flop at a moment’s notice takes away from that?
And actually you received a very good answer before.
Someone told you it changes gameplay and that is absolutely true.
That extra tank who doesn’t need to tank anymore? Suddenly a ret paladin or fury warrior instead of a tank with a dps weapon.
That healer we don’t need this fight? Suddenly extra dps.
Those extra tanks we need for 4 horseman? Boom no issue anymore waiting on 6 warriors to go respec.
It’s a huge deviation from vanilla in that very regard alone.
But hey. Pretend you weren’t given this answer already.
It would though. You are in the long run removing a gold sync. Sure up front it’s going to cost more for the person to buy it but in the long run they save gold. That creates inflation.
Your original post is gone. How am I supposed to remember the exact details you proposed.
Poor itemization and design were part of what made the game what it was, even part of the appeal. You mean I have to deal with less then perfect everything?
It’s still removing a gold sink in the long term and that could have far reaching consequences.
How much does dual spec even cost? Do we go with the wrath value? Something less?
