So does life.
LFD hasn’t even been relevant since Legion because it can’t be used for Mythic+.
even if i like lfd , considering the ease of wrath dungeons this is just a lie
it will devolve once again into . tank go, heal heal. dps dps since theere are little to no cc or hard pulls, just go and zug
This has more chance of the group chain running dungeons though, it does benefit socialization
“LF1M tank daily heroic” for 1 hour.
Receives whisper “Prot Paladin”
Invites
“Hey can I get might over kings?”
Do the instance and complete it
“Ggs bois”
Leave group
Ah yes, the fabled “Social interaction” of TBC, what a great design
Edit: Because I read further down this trash tier thread.
The only people I see talking about ninja’ing items are probably people who would use it to ninja items. It’s almost like a projection of a guilty conscience at this point. Just go ahead and admit that you’re not a fun player to be around and that you need less QOL in the game to “force social interaction” so you can bully others into doing what you want because you’re their only route to play the game, and with something like RDF, they wouldn’t need you anymore, and you’d just be alone in a massive world, again.
You wouldnt believe how many dungeons ive done where the only thing i had to say was “ill go”
how exactly does Wrath dungeons being easy make this a lie? because no one has to call out CC? what stops people from talking if the dungeon is so easy? if anything i’d say easier dungeons are the ones i’m more sociable with cause i don’t gotta stress about CC or keeping the tank alive or bursting down certain mobs.
Most of the “we won” will have quit mid way into phase 2, i feel your 1 year optimism of player retention is a bit reaching.
Wrath is kinda a boring expansion in terms of pve, its so boring that after you have seen the crudely portrayed not actually interactive phased story once; game is kinda done excluding the PvE gear treadmill and PvP.
outside of that wrath has very little to offer… its kinda sad actually.
More than TBC to be fair. Atleast there is not cringe dailies, VOA is “fun”, achievement hunting is a new grind, mount and title collecting returns, and more. As far as actual end game progession, yeah you’re right, there isn’t much more added outside of hard mode into heroic.
I think achievement farming will be a key feature in retaining players though.
It has more to offer than Vanilla or BC did
Even the hard modes are easier in most cases than anything TBC (at progression phase) raids have to offer.
here is kinda how I rate the difficulty of Wrath PvE (at phase proggression)
Dungeons and dungeon heroics.
Level 1 difficulty on a scale of 10; for reference TBC normal modes are a 4 /10
Raids:
Naxx literally less challenging than doing MC with Naxx epics in 2.x talents
ULD (excluding no lights and possibly algalon) About pre-nerf in phase Karazan range of challenge.
Trial (excluding PvP event) similar to normal mode Old Hillsbrad foothills at Level 67 in greens / quest blues using a paladin tank and priest healer.
ICC Excluding LK similar to HS & BT with but the trash clearing is 10x easier.
almost forgot 3 drakes; doing it that way on 3 drakes mode, similar to Hydros in difficulty.
Ony is a very nerfed version and she was easy in original vanilla.
and LOL ruby sanctum… time filler designed to say “Sorry that cata is not here yet”
If I were given the power to change a few things…
No “normal modes” in raid would exist, 25 palyers would be the only option, the Dungeon and raid trash would get buffed slightly but the power of AE abilities would get cut by 65% to change the PVE meta a bit. As for the PvP spill over; eh who cares really; the core of what we use there is intact and AE is mostly for flushing out stealth targets and preventing drinking / CC.
I would also step down the item level.
Naxx loot would be ~200
Uld Loot 210
Trial loot 220
ICC loot 230
Heroic Dungeon loot would be 190 for launch dungeons, 210 for trial dungeon and 220 for ICC dungeon.
PVP Arena gear would match the same phase raid loot in item level, the BG honor gear would start with a Heroic dungeon equal iLvl and then progress to last seasons arena epics. PvP gear would not be gated, but Elite sets that are cosmetic only would be unlocked at 2200 or so with special season specific tabards that are awarded for X number of Arena or RBG games won.
Also I would add RBG, and the retail LFG group builder (basically RFD lite).
I would also incentivize heroic dungeons by means of repeatable quests that award both some RNG things like mounts and pets but also some extra badges.
It was in OG WotLK. I remember joining achievement groups that ran TBC raids.
Somebody just went full vanilla fanboi mode lol
I outlined this in another post…
There are things Vanilla did very well; we can learn from that.
there is also a lot vanilla did very badly, we can also learn from that.
I… Didn’t know we were talking about difficulty?
All you said king was:
Which is purely subjective.
Even difficulty is subjective, but it’s a weird mix of player subjective difficulty and intended objective difficulty.
You ranked TBC at a 4/10. I rank it a 1/10. It’s easy, even in P1. I had to use Kidney Shot a few more times than normal at that stage, but I slept through pretty much every instance with the only issues being the first boss of Mechanar, and the last boss of Arcatraz.
It’s intended to be harder than Kara, but below Gruul and Mag.
As we’ve seen with TBC, and even Retail. Players don’t want harder content. Players want engaging and interesting content. We saw this with pre nerf Moro, pre nerf Vashj, pre nerf KT. It dropped players, especially coupled with the scandals and holidays. On the retail side, we see less and less people pushing heroic and mythic kills, especially with rewards that are deemed below the effort for the difficulty.
It’s ok that your pure focus is on difficulty, but I don’t feel like it’s representative of the player base.
Subjective, but personally, I hate almost every TBC instance, with the only saving grace being that I can tolerate some. I enjoy none of them. Conversely, easy or difficult, I enjoy almost every LK instance. (Violet Hold and Oculus are gross imo, and the one with Brann’s gauntlet fight zzz.)
What?
Look man, it’s fine if you only care about difficulty, but when talking about whether the content is boring or not is purely subjective, and artificially dictating that “fun” is only based on difficulty is not a vastly shared opinion.
Yeah, I remember “attempting” the insane in the membrane achievement on a pvp server. Made Booty Bay loads of fun.
Spamming LFG for people is literally grouping with random people you will probably never speak to again. The social fabric that supposedly binds the classic community together is a facade. The proof of this is that most pickup groups are GDKPs, the majority of new level 70s have been boosted, and small servers are being abandoned for mega-servers.
The real socialization in WoW are guild based micro-communities and discord.
This isn’t just about efficiency. Spamming LFG is insufferable. The people who believe spamming trade/LFG is community for random pick ups are on heavy copium. Even more delusional are the ones who believe there is a “server blacklist” maintained by basement dwelling manbabies.
Total support to OP. RFD is bad for classic. I said it before and say it again, this community deserves the retail disaster that we have.
Agreed, nobody cares about the server reputation of people on their server
I had people scream derogatory slurs, mass report, and “blacklist” me because I was afk with pvp on at Overlook.
I even had Buffarms make a thread about me a few weeks on the forums because of it.
What has happened since then to me? Literally nothing.
Classic spergs will always be classic spergs. Their only aspect of power is low tier mob mentality which holds no ramifications at all.
