Prepatch is proof that you listen to wrong feedback

They were calling the OP more things than that and saying how they enjoy taking the piss out of bullies. They justify their stance by painting others as bullies and sadistic, which means their view is good and virtued. In other words they are name calling like a bully and saying cry more for being upset about how the event got neutered

I agree that the overall name calling (and it goes to everybody.) isn’t simply on. Really anybody who name calls people or used things like “Safe spaces” and etc, chances are, they aren’t even genuinely upset at Blizzard changing it in the first place, and just giving unwarranted anger towards the people who just wanted to opt out of it, not even remove it.

As i said before, they don’t even know Blizzard was gonna do that. And for those of you who said “i do know”… a fair concern, but that doesn’t make you objectively right. How you can even begin to proof it before, i have no idea. And it certainly doesn’t give you the right to be angry towards people.

To those who are angry at the people and did say “i knew back then”… maybe next time if you have a hunch, maybe instead of being angry towards somebody which surprisingly doesn’t make them listen or take you seriously… you tell them about your concerns instead? Because that’s more helpful then just being angry towards somebody. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

(The last two parts, i’m not talking to you Zenznin, i was talking to the pro-eventers here… Well were pro-eventers, just eventers… )

Such arrogance and ignorance. You’re on MoonGuard, there’s no open PvP there. It’s flag yourself or go Warmode. And since the rules of the world say I don’t have to flag or go Warmode, guess you gotta play by that and not get to be a jerk to people. Sweetie.

Ahem. Battlegrounds. Queue for them. There are ACTUAL people in there who LIKE the “war” part…

it would if that was why op is whining. she is mad not because of the event, she is mad simply because people were given tools to avoid her and she wanted to be a nuisance to people.
it isn’t about the event, it’s about not being able to piss people off for her own enjoyment.
i am pretty happy about this and this topic actually made me love that decision even more, gotta love seeing toxic people angry at not being able to harass others.

Again failure to understand a thing. Let me help you out. This will be the last time ok?

I don’t like pvp and I am ok with it being a options most of the time. However, this scourge event has a history, and turning into a ghoul and attacking/getting other people into the scourge. That is part of this event. Sweetie, if two weeks of the rules changing would not be a bad thing. Instead, a group of people cried on the forums about it.

These players can’t adapt to the world state, they want Blizzard to make sure that they always have a choice. That is very anti mmorpg. When you log on, you adapt to the current events in the world. Just like real life, the fact they protected all players from a invasion with this poor design WE all paying the price for your unwillingness to be a “victim” in a game.

Exactly, it is a video game. Try not to be a jerk to the other people trying to enjoy it.

The fact that you can opt out of a dooms day event is the most anti MMORPG I have ever seen.

Then you haven’t played many mmorpgs. Don’t blame the genre. Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 had a doomsday event and no one needed to grief each other.

Yeah, this…this actually makes you look worse. Like waayy worse.
The sheer audacity of telling anyone what kinds of games they shouldn’t be playing.

You have a myopic, and selfishly defined, image of what an MMORPG actually is. Your gatekeeping is pathetic to such a degree, that the irony of you being the least appropriate type of person for the genre is utterly lost on you.

You use vague phrases like “ever changing world” and adaptation, but you’re here complaining that you need to adapt to a changed event. Your main argument here is that you’re BORED.

The fact is, you yourself, are utterly incapable of accepting change or adapting. Unless it directly appeals to you. And yes, this is simply about what you want. Your boredom. If you’re this bored, maybe an MMORPG isn’t for YOU.

However, this scourge event has a history

Wait, so now it’s all about history and tradition? I thought MMORPGS were all about an ever changing world and adaptation? But you want something to be utterly the same as it used to be. So is it just the rest of us who need to “adapt” to whatever you personally enjoy?

This is your ‘adapt or leave’ moment, and you’re failing.

LOL most people agree with me in this thread

Yeah…nothing says majority approval like averaging 1 like per post, if not 0.
But argumentum ad populum is always the sign of a weak opinion.

Dying in a video game or getting killed does not make the other person a jerk. Just FYI.

I played Ultima Online, EQ, and most MMORPGS.

Here let me help you out here. When things happen in the world, that bring impact. It is suppose to reflected on all players, because our chars live in said world. A invasion that happens, that you can opt out of, goes against the very nature of what a virtual world is, and is anti mmorpg.

You can disagree with me, but I’ve played muds growing up, moved to mmos. I’ve seen how things change, but lets make one thing clear. The world itself is the blue print, it is the cup that holds everything, and the fact a event a huge one is being design in this way. Shows that Blizzard design team clearly are greenhorns with MMORPG design.

Way to twist words up. The old event has a history for having a big impact on the world, and its players.

This event not so much. This comment fails. The scourge is suppose to over run us, the lore itself says this. The scourge is not some “clever” thing. It has numbers, and it is a invasion. We don’t need to re invent the wheel on the bases of what the scourge really are. Common sense hello?

The upvotes, and many players agree with me on this lack luster event. I don’t care if you don’t. You clearly are new to mmorpgs if you don’t understand the basics of world design and why it players a key point of what a mmorpg is.

I’ve no objection to Blizzard removing the A-hole factor in game. There is no reason at all players should have to engage in cutthroat tactics to get a boss kill, or loot, or what have you. Everyone can play and since there are no more loot options (everything is “personal”) why should it be skin off anyone’s nose?

If you want to fight with other players (or against them) get into warmode.

This close minded take really is something else. Is this really what the avg mmo player has become?

A world event that has players turning into the scourge to kill you, not only is griefing but is A hole. The very thought of a event that could inconvenience your time in the game is the end of the world.

Blizzard listens to these players, and look at the price you pay. A sub par game. It is not like players are asking for this to always be the case, but these players don’t want a event that could have impact on them at all. Even for a short time.

Until this rot is cleansed, No real hope for Wow, unless Blizzard gets a backbone and starts acting like real MMORPG developers.

Shadowland does have some of that backbone, but this event makes me worried.

The scourge event is now live. Make all the babies sufferrrrrrrr.

Yeah it’s still not as bad as the pre-Wrath event where you were turning into zombies and that condition grew progressively worse as you got closer to the patch. At one point I just stopped bothering even to log in.

So not being able to go to the major cities was such a big deal that you did not log on?

You had ways to work around it, but hey you do you.

I was IN a major city on several of my toons. But it got to the point where if I even logged on I was turned into a zombie. “Curing” it only invited another zombification. I just ended up playing SWOTOR till the “event” was over.

but that event had impact, you picked not to work around said event and it was only temp anyway. Many players had fun, and you came back.

Instead, we get this trash of a event.

This is why I don’t do fast food anymore. 80% of the time the order isn’t correct.

Mama always said if you want something done right…

The original BC pre-patch event was dull imho. Periodically a mob would spawn, you kill it, maybe it drops gear you can use, maybe not.

The pre-Wrath event was terribad.

I don’t even remember the pre-Cata event

Pre-panda was meh imho

Pre-WoD also was pretty unmemorable.

The pre-Legion patch imho was the single best pre-patch event in the game’s history. It was great because it required a joint effort of players on both factions to defeat the demons. Everyone could participate.

It was a thing of beauty to see hundreds of players flying together from location to location to fight.

If Blizzard wanted to repeat that event for every pre-patch I would be very pleased.

now if only they would come and infect the druids running around the quest hubs in wod.

It was clearly the easiest financial solution. Revamp old content.

Yep, since Blizzard obviously lacks a creative dev team, there isn’t any point in pouring money down a dry hole. Frankly, I think Blizzard would garner millions of subs just by releasing legacy servers for BC-Panda.
