i agree premades are too much
And with blizzard this is a huge keep your fingers crossed, certainly has the potential to be good.
Premade PvP types just want the enjoyment and social aspects of grouping up with like minded group PvPers. Surely they deserve to double their fun by playing against group minded PvPers too
Oh absolutely. If it’s successful they can expand on it to end game pvp content which was what I was hoping for going into sod.
Even if it doesn’t, if it makes trade chat mades practice and get better that’s cool w me. It’ll also break up those teams too. What I can see happening tho in the same light is a healer shortage in pugs. We will just have to see
Looks like they might try to do that. But what people forget is that premades are already fighting each other. This is because there are so many teams playing because of wsg rep. So it’s not accurate to say they won’t figut each other. I still believe the vast majority will still premade after the change solely for being in a group of like minded ppl
This unironically describes the average pug vs pug scenario, just without the nuance of what happens before the first enemy cap:
Four teammates rushing eight red names in mid to feed, two sitting in flag room as EFC runs freely down tunnel. Another two spamming spacebar in ghost. You and the one other teammate, who is still probably on the left side of the bell curve, attempting to go for enemy flag. Twenty minutes later, despite anyone’s effort to rally the group, some happenstance flag returns, the same four or five players are still trickling into mid one or two at a time, disappearing as fast as they arrived.
Bg’s were always very popular, even in its recent classic approaches, what killed it in retail, was its e-sport approach, with normal bg’s only working as a warm up room.
I don’t really think RBGs or arenas are even an esport. It’s all niche in its own category.
Aren’t an e-sport, because they didn’t thrive as one, but their creation was moved by that mentality.
Sure some premades are full of non pvpers and some give up when capped on, but what people refuse to accept is that premade players first and foremost play to be in a structured team with like minded people. It’s the same thing when I run a 10-15 stack.
That’s completely incorrect! I would dare to say that 99% of those playing premades rn, only do it, to get more rep/honor per hour.
I have probably thousands of wsg’s in my pocket and what you described, never was a predominant scenario.
Yeah, like in premades, where many, forfeits after the first score, you can have games like this, but they were not the majority.
As i said, randomness is fun, at least imo.
I remember retail pug, when everyone does whatever they want except objectives.
Nah, find a pre-made.
99% is quite a claim for sure
However when I was running a full 10, I played against ALOT more teams that were fighting out the entire game than I did in classic.
Throwing was huge in classic, however in classic I experienced much stronger teams.
I am in agreement with you that premades throw and give up, but we can’t really use that as an argument bc pugs do that too
The hph/rep grind is just the name of the game. It’s how the game is designed. That’s not to say there are pugs and premades who have fun doing that, in a number of ways.
Personally I play to hope to run into good premades on purpose. Same thing every fresh server. People giving up for better hph is just something that’s never going away. That doesn’t mean only 1% of teams are having fun with good matches. As I said I have encountered more teams fighting it out even though I think the overall power scope is lower than classic from my pov. And I’m talking 40 minutes-1 hour or more games. That tanks your hph, but if you like wsg it’s fun.
The br1 cap is only 500k at higher ranks, you can do that in 2 days in ab weekend. No reason to throw if you like the fun
Not that this is a competition and I’m ashamed to admit this, certainly not proud of it. I’ve definitely got you beat by a score.
So while yes, it’s not a predominant scenario for pugs to throw vs other pugs, what is predominant is being grouped with 1) undergeared 2) undesirable comp 3) retards 4) won’t play to the objective, even in the slightest as a team. And likely a combination of all of those.
The only thing that dictates which pug wins over which really comes down to which one has the least retards on their team and willing to play to the objective.
That is the pug experience and while you might find it fun. A lot of people don’t.
A much better fix to all of this would have been no bg’s unless you’re in a group. Just like you can’t raid or dungeon without a group, you shouldn’t be in a bg without a group. And if you say that excludes people, well good. They’re exactly the sort of player no one rationale, who doesn’t like having their time wasted by, wants to be grouped with in the first place.
And just putting premades in a separate queue should be a win win for everyone based on that.
That’s fine.
Don’t care if it’s superpro prem or pug.
I just don’t want to be waiting forever for a game because 4 rl friends and I wanted to play together.
Nah. If you don’t want to group, you don’t get to bg. That’s how it should be.
Same as raiding.
I pug raids all the time.
Premades are fine. You either find and queue with a group or you queue solo knowing that you could run into a premade. It’s been this way for 20 years. Stop with the whining already.
Don’t play dumb. You’re not hitting a button and getting auto-filled into a group.
Typical tricks schlomo.
Sure of course the obvious difference is that in pve you aren’t competing against other players.
Give it the ole flipperoni
All I really care about in the grand scheme of things
