Premades need to be broken

What if you have 10 friends who all want to play together?

Aren’t you playing together, when you play with other pugs?!

Oh i forgot, accordingly to the sweaty minds, playing online together only counts when players spend hours in discord, many times just listening and babbling non sense.

FC going tunnel. Oops sorry I offended you.

That’s enough forums for today, Leitteira

So have they announced exactly what the changes they’re making in phase 2 are?

Play a better PvP game. One that people care about the solo experience. (Ironically Retail is one example, League of Legends, etc.)

-Person that used to PvP in WoW, but then it turned to trash because the devs let it.

More like: “They scored! Let them win guys, we’ll probably get pugs in the next one. Meanwhile, while we wait, lets talks about non sense to make this count as an MMO!”

Its not an MMO unless you are in Discord listening to some neckbeard take a boong hit !!! lloooooool

Mah social experience !!!

“What do you mean the people who decided to coordinate as a group are doing better than those who joined solo and refuse to play as a team? WE MUST STOP THIS BEHAVIOR!”

Playing soloQ - Default baseline social interaction, generally more abusive and profane language directed at teamates, minimal to zero coordination.

Playing with a premade - Chosen and sought out group socialization. Teamwork, direct organization and communication. Less profane language directed at teammates, higher likely hood of winning. More social by nature than soloQ is.

Only the willfully obtuse refuse to understand the better option. SoloQ is fine as are premade groups. Trying to punish people for playing together in the same way they did years ago onward is foolish and entitled. I hope whatever matchmaking system they put out still matches premades/small groups with soloQ players.

Most soloQ sit in the GY and cry after the first enemy flag cap anyway, removing premades won’t change that attitude.

The thing is nothing is really going to change with pugs

They will still afk at the graveyard, give up/throw games by dropping the flag etc once their team is getting owned by the other pug. They still will figure in mid blindly for 30 minutes without trying to get flag etc.

The same behavior will persist in solo only games. They know this. Only this time they have no excuses.

However, I look forward to match making and hope it drives organized teams to be better/learn more

Yeah, no amount of hand holding and system molding is going to stop the “JUST AFK WE LOST” after one flag cap mentality. It is honestly super pervasive even in classic.

“See that area, that’s the killbox. we don’t go in there”
proceeds to watch 5 people run in and die instantly

Hope so, I may not be in the PVP game anymore and you know I have my OPINIONS on things but I do want people to have fun. I just don’t think the soloQ people in this thread ever will until its just them in an empty WSG map running the flag from and empty base to theirs.

What will change is that whatever percent of games are against a premade won’t happen and therefore the over all experience of pugging will improve.

Yeah this is entirely wishful thinking, not reality.

I am not arguing against that, I am just stating that the mentality will not change. It persists even with trade chat pug premades. As soon as things look grim, players throw and give up. That isn’t going away no matter who they fight. It has happened on every server since the beginning of vanilla recycles and will continue thru match making.

I do want to see how they structure their new system. We haven’t gotten any info on it just yet and I’m curious

Just join retail and do rbg’s, that’s the perfect game mode for people that only want e-sport/pre made pvp teams.
Or that, or just ask blizzard for a specific group queue for SOD bg’s. Bet they will be super popular…

Random/pug bg’s are enjoyable, unless for people who are farming it for like 8 hours a day. Randomness in instanced pvp is cool and healthy for the game.

Noone is claiming that ever game will suddenly be great. But the games against premades are basically the worst possible game you can end up in.

Those will be gone, so over all the experience improves.

I know. I q solo, 2 mans, 4 mans, full premades etc. it’s all fun in its own way. I don’t play with premades who throw and give up, I know that exists. It exists in pug v pug too. That’s not going away.

Most retail pvp modes are completely dead. I have some friends who play retail RBGs. Even the normal BGs are weak, they tell me. I would actually try retail but I simply do not like the way it looks. I don’t like the weird races and the game just looks like it’s trying to hard to look good. I simply cannot relate to the game

And that’s exactly what happens when you turn an MMO instanced pvp into an e-sport, which is basically what is happening with SOD.

Blizzard should know better…
Just let people have fun, which they can’t if the game is pushing metas like class combos, class stacking and the use of third party software through premades.
That’s not what SOD should be all about, having fun and testing?!

I don’t really think RBGs or arenas are even an esport. It’s all niche in its own category.

I just think less people are interested in pvp overtime. I don’t know for sure, cause I’m not playing. I just find it unusual that 40 minute bg qs are a thing now but not before when BGs were still BGs

I also don’t think you are realy selling your product by flaming premades who use discord, which you say is bad/3rd party. It’s 2024. Who doesn’t use discord?

Sure some premades are full of non pvpers and some give up when capped on, but what people refuse to accept is that premade players first and foremost play to be in a structured team with like minded people. It’s the same thing when I run a 10-15 stack.

When I don’t feel like I want to do that, I’ll just q solo or with a couple people. The whole notion that lremades are purposely trying to bully pugs is arguing in bad faith.

Maybe this match making will be good for both sides. We will just have to see
