While there are some gamers playing SoD… it also attracted nearly all the terrible players (can be seen from all the afking and crying about premades).
I mean the only con is for the premades who want to pug stomp.
For pugs it’s a win, for premades who actually want to fight other premades it’s a win. I guess there could be some masochistics pugs out there who like getting stomped by premades? I’ve never come across one though.
I totally get that view. I think for some of us who played in classic wow or enjoy the war aspect in mmorpg genres I found this below to really come into effect in phase one:
I understand it’s only SoD, but it is still classic branded. It’s been fantastic (for some) and much like back in the day I met so many people due to this and it wouldn’t have occurred without the struggle of some playing solo. It has, at least on our server and some built in game rivalries as most of us come from solo, pugs, pve, world pvp etc. But everyone has a different view of it.
I guess we’ll see what they actually change with the queuing. Assuming there’s still a 10 man option nothing would stop you from playing with those people if you want to.
Yes, I’m fairly certain there will be solo queue for you.
I just know it has had some good come from it as there are at least 6 guilds we see who mostly started as solo/random bg players and it has turned into premades. The building of these connections and communities has been great. happy for those who get to play pick up basketball team chosen at random but will be sad to see less solo players banding together to form groups which is an aspect of the game I like but get that others dont.
I find it interesting that the only response from Blizzard on this subject has come from Aggrend on his personal X account. It was a complete cop-out and an excuse to not put any creative thought into a solution. The TL;DR is that you are the problem for not joining a premade yourself. What’s more, since it’s from his personal social-media account, he routinely blocks people for responses he doesn’t like. So, effectively, he lives in an echo chamber where his opinions are always validated. Did I mention he’s effectively speaking for the company from that account?
Here’s a solution, free from my brain’s 3 minutes of effort on the subject:
Limit group queues to 5 (or whatever you want it to be, accounting for size of the BG and whatever else). Then, create an internal timer that doesn’t allow you to queue with anyone else who clicks the queue button within a certain time after yours. That timer can actually be a couple of minutes, as long as there is a decent pool of players queuing. This prevents the “let’s get in Discord, click at the same time, and wait to see if we’re in the same one, and still be a 10-man” approach.
I have literally seen my server benefit from people getting stomped. Premades form to stop the other premades, guilds form due to it and it bleeds positively into the world instead of just a single player RPG etc. Again my own view and have voiced happy either way not going to complain. Separating queues does slow this forming down and while I respect your view, I just think in an mmorpg, being forced to group up to overcome a challenge is what separates WoW (classic branded) from other genres and games.
I’m not against fighting fire with fire. However, most premades look for very specific comps (priests and hunters are pretty much mandatory), as well as gear requirements that the majority of players can’t meet. So what you really (mostly) get is elitists queuing against elitists, but in a pool so small that they often run into PUGs rather than each other. I solo queued on 4 characters to reach Sergeant and 87% of the matches were against premades.
That’s delusion. Sure a premade or two pop up… but dozens stop doing BGs and after a while people tend to not want to do BGs at all, premades are only harming BGs.
I call a take like I see it. I disagree with many opinions they have, the Ashenvale “pvp” event they created was Trashenvale. The take that people should group up in an mmorpg aligns with what I think an mmorpg should be in a classic branded version of the game. I’m not out here defending Blizzards sexual allegations by agreeing with some take about social play in an online game.
Wait… Then premades aren’t a problem if there’s only one or two? Please pick a side.
I may be living in “delusion” to think grouping up with others is weird. But from my experience we see new premades popping up all the time and when I play solo bg’s (because sometimes our groups are offline) we sometimes beat the premades and sometimes we lose and get farmed at the gy. So when I join my group it feels good to play with others.
no the idea is that I should be able to just pop into a bg like OG Classic and not get dunked on like im the npc in a 10 man raid. Its not a hard concept to grasp this version of BG does nothing but benefit stacks when they should be playing against other stacks and solos should be prioritized towards solos
I still say you’re out of touch and agreeing with someone who is also incredibly out of touch.
Ashenvale is fine for what it is, wish it was more PVP focused rather than a PVE objective chase throughout the area. I have no clue why you’re talking about the allegations… we’re talking about BGs… and well now just PVP in general. You okay?
Picking a comment in two parts to make it look like it’s supporting your argument? How terribly amateur.
That’s not why you’re delusional, stop trying to flip it, it’s never going to work.
Premades will ALWAYS do more harm than good… as I said before, it may add a premade or two, but far more will avoid BGs all together to avoid the frustration of premades being allowed to farm normal players.
There I put the whole thing. You still said there’s only one or two.
I’m not trying to flip anything. I see it one way, others see it another way. I agree with what I say and respect the opinions of what some who have disagreed with me said. You came in here reading 1 post and think I’m doing this to defend Blizzard .
They should form a group. That is literally my answer and I know we disagree so I apologize in advance.
As I said to another guy while you were thinking I’m just kissing Blizzards butt:
You like solo games. Nothing at all wrong with that in the slightest and I respect your interests.
