Imagine having pvp without casual players. You don’t have to imagine just look at the current state of 2s and 3s. I want to help them too I just don’t know enough to make suggestions and it looks silly having an unranked telling ranked players how their game should be.
I ran 5 last night and three were against premades. We beat two of them. Player skill doesn’t change when you add friends. Coordination can only go so far.
I think it’s honor level 30 where they move you from SHU to general population, below 30 you’re with the newer players.
I group of 5 good players can destroy a random bg with ease. And if they’re on discord, that a whole other lvl.
Most are just friends playing together but there are those types as well. The queue system could accommodate both better.
We’ll who’s fault is that? Hop on the in-game voice and fight back.
FYI, Ventrillo was a thing back then.
You think premades don’t exist in epics? lol
I don’t know if you can have an expectation that a random group will be able to coordinate beyond simple tasks though I am impressed with the overall skill level of players to execute complex plans without much input beyond things like demonstrating how you can use a glider to paratroop BS from LM.
I do agree they’re almost always beatable unless your team is just a bunch of what my team usually is. Even then 1 person can make a difference. Even when your team stopped leaving the GY because they got at least 4 groups in on the opposing team. You may not win but maybe it was just what your team needed, I’ve made that difference but it’s pretty rare (but fun if you don’t mind dying). I try to make a nuisance of myself so they’ll chase me back to one of the GYs in an effort to get my team involved.
it is really annoying and it does make it unfun, but there isn’t anything you can do about it cus removing the ability to group up+queue for BGs is a worse alternative. o well
As if Ventrillo, Team Speak and Skype didn’t exist, right?
Even MSN messenger had a call feature.
Using a mic for comms isn’t something that only came about with discord.
Neither is social networking to find groups. People used to just chat in game to find people.
Agree that the premade ratio of random bg matches has seemed significantly higher than usual for whatever reason
Either more premades q’ing or less solos q’ing, or both
That reminds me when I played on Eldre’Thalas alliance back in vanilla. Alliance queues were like 45 minutes, and when you finally did get in you would be matched against a certain horde premade about 50% of the time who would just farm you and GY camp until honor gains from kills was gone.
I think it’s how regular players survived ratings for gear and it’s carried over. I figured to just do regulars, there are a lot that team for advantage but they’re mostly winnable compared to the multi syncs but I do like playing against them in WG for some reason even if I only solo queue and have no chance of winning.
it’s super duper easy to get a 30+ man premade into epics on alliance.
all you have to do is queue at the same time/go in when the leader says to.
It may unfortunately be a population problem.
Less players playing means running into premades more often.
This happens pretty frequently during peak times, though I haven’t done epics in quite a while. The familiar names begin to pop up on the opposite side, and when you would see those, you were nearly always steamrolled.
professional premades carried players in bgs since vanilla.
ex Romanian military sold pvp ranks in 2006…
I’m not saying premades don’t normally decimate a group of full randoms, I’m saying it’s not as big of a problem as some make it out to be. I do ten to twenty epic battlegrounds daily and might run into a premade 10% of the time. They usually win, but in many cases it’s because they use tactics that make sense. Watch them and learn rather than just thinking it’s an instant loss. Use those tactics next time.
The best part about running into premades in Alterac is that they usually turn a mindless zerg into an actual fight.
I never understood premades once rated bgs became a thing. Why are premades even bothering with regular bgs for anyway?
So they can steamroll the opposite team without effort. It’s the same reason why twinking was started.
