It’s not a meaningful choice. They should have just created a new talent system with new stuff instead of another throwaway poop storm that’s going to screw people over.
If it was story arcs, THEN it would be meaningful choice. But better to be lazy and give people the middle finger than actually create good content, right?
It’s stupid.
HAHAHAHAHAHA… let me know how that works out in reality.
Sounds to me like all you want to do is insult someone’s hobby or career because you don’t like what they do. QQ more.
Yeah, I have heard the cap varies and I am not sure why. If their concern was that AoE made certain classes too strong, all they did is now ensure other classes will hold that power.
They can’t have people being able to do every form of content on one toon any more , they need people to play more alts to keep the numbers up for the investors.
People say all they look at is monthly numbers but can anyone honestly say they don’t have a way to track how often a person logs in to play in that monthly period.
In their defense, they have been doing a lot of interviews for Shadowlands. The Preach thing wasn’t even his idea, Ion reached out to him. Their opinions of their systems are trash but at least they are reaching out to the community.
So what? Talk is cheap. They need to deliver a better game.
Ion could do a thousand interviews where he tells everyone he doesn’t want us to fly for the first year of the expansion. But big deal. We still can’t fly.
I don’t care at all about how many interviews they do. In fact, I would be delighted if they spent less time doing interviews, and more time making a better game.
Why would they learn a lesson when they don’t think they’re wrong? We’ve all seen Ion going out and arguing with customers about how they’re wrong for not liking something.
The way covenants are designed and balanced currently is just going to cause more issues of certain class combinations being given priority over others, making most people feel obligated to join a certain covenant. Blizz has already said they want some sort of discrepancy to exist, and that they can tune things accordingly. But we all know how good they are at tuning… cough Corrupted Gear cough
Also the gated content. Stuff like Kyrian Stadium and Necrolord build-a-bear workshop.
These haven’t really hit the radar of the playerbase yet, but the moment somebody puts up a video on how cool Kyrian Stadium is, and everyone else is all “WHAT? I CAN’T DO THIS BECAUSE I’M A DIFFERENT COVENANT? WHY BLIZZARD?”
I’m looking forward to the “covenants should be restricted!” crowd justifying themselves, then.
They’ll probably just try and blame it on raiders, though.
I’ll never forget Lore coming out at the beginning of BfA and threatening that the developers would make Azerite reforging worse if players didn’t stop using it so much.
That, to me, was one of the most honest looks we’ve had at the way the current team thinks.
Not “hey they’re doing this thing we didn’t want them to do, what did we do wrong?”
Instead, it is “hey, they’re doing this thing we didn’t want them to do, how can we punish them until they do what we want?”
Yeah I agree. The locking to covenants is really baffling too because if you only play your main, you are only ever going to see 25% of the Shadowlands content. I don’t think that has sunk in with a lot of the people who want this “meaningful choice.”
