If we do not get any news about servers/name reservations by tonight I am gonna start suspecting the servers may just magically appear on Tuesday. For SoM the announce was the Monday evening the week prior, for Thursday reserves. We are already one day past that announce lead time for fresh servers…

I don’t know why people don’t seem to understand this. There is room for fresh servers, but only if they’re kept to the bare minimum amount.

I haven’t seen a single person say that they want a dozen or whatever fresh servers. Instead, most people agree with what I quoted. The OP certainly didn’t say that they wanted a lot of servers so who knows where your comment even came from. Yes, there should only be a few servers if they are going to remain healthy.

On the topic yes hopefully people get more information soon.

I’ve said this in other threads but… This is something they should have certainly decided before now. They are obviously also aware that their player base likes to plan out where they are going etc So it seems a bit strange to not bother giving the information.

I don’t expect it to be some large number of servers, when you consider how many they just closed. For the US maybe a PvE and PvP? I’m not even sure I see them making an RP server. Maybe… I guess we’ll find out at some point. Maybe when the servers come up on the 30th and we see new names on the list (lol).

Also if there is only going to be something like 1 PvE and 1PvP there isn’t a lot of planning to do BUT it would still be nice to know.

I believe his point is that server names shouldn’t matter because there should only be 1 of each type. I actually agree with him , even though I plan to play fresh, in that if they unload 4 or 5 fresh servers it could be a disaster.

They might be trying to prevent server stacking. But more likely they are just being typical blizzard and not communicating anything

Yeah I mean I’ve said many times (in like 20+ threads) that there should only be 1 PVP and 1 PVE server if fresh is going to survive so I’m absolutely not arguing.

I’ve just never seen anyone say that they want tons of servers, and this is the topic I’ve been watching. Although sure maybe someone said elsewhere outside these forums that they want tons of servers. So I found the “I don’t know why people don’t understand this” statement weird as I’ve literally never seen anyone want more. So who are these “people” that guy is referring to in what I quoted? Maybe people that he made up. Who knows.

As for Blizzard they are doing what Blizzard does often with not really communicating that well, and they will release the number of servers they want. So saying this even if people want to congregate on one PVP/one PVE server to make things healthy that can’t be planned like it was for say Jom Gabbar on SoM.

I watched the chaos all go down. I was curious in SoM for funsies. People picked their servers, and their unofficial ones.

Then discords started screaming “DEAD SERVER! X IS MEGASERVER!”

And shot them own selves in the feet and killed their own servers.

I am REALLY hoping they put SOME sort of incentive/balance/whatever in to keep pvp servers healthy.

The silence is deafening and not good.

Yep. Jom was the “mega-server” and the only server worth rolling on (according to Jomists).

I suppose though it became a self fulfilling prophecy in the end.
