Pre-Patch Event vs. MoP Remix

Yep. I’ll believe it when I see game design that respects my time and effort. Not… Whatever the hell this Radiant Bullcrap is.

The thing about remix was, it has never been done before. It was a totally new idea. This is Blizzard’s 10th (I think… right?) expansion event. People have complained about others, but that was things like the scourge invasion which disabled vendors and questgivers.

This has everything it needs to be… at least decent. Unique events. Unique limited time items. And then they gated it all behind an impossible and frustrating timer that only serves to choke their servers as everyone shows up after an hour and a half.

Remix you can pop in, join a raid, join a dungeon, whatever. Go level. It is all there ready to go. I had most of the mounts before they buffed the rate at which you get bronze. All the buff did was change it from choosing what I was going to get, to I got EVERYTHING, including the stuff I didn’t care about.

Both are kinda terrible for me so I’m indifferent.

Thank you for that non-opinion.

What effort? Judging by your account I don’t see anything remotely suggesting that there is any “effort” put in.

No problem.

Blizz makes a ton of trash content, what can I say.

I mean they could easily let the bosses spawn 3x in that 30m period… but for some reason they have decided that end of expansion events should be a grind

They don’t mind doing this for ReMOP because they know only transmogs and gold (maybe) and character levels are coming through. Nothing that’s truly tangible going into the expansion. Otherwise they would never have let something like ReMOP happen.

Not even a grind, just a weird timegate. The grind is the people madly spam killing mobs. I can’t even imagine caring that much about the mediocre rewards being offered.

The pre patch event is a retail event. Remix is a completely different concept. I don’t want retail to be remix.

I had a lot of fun with remix and never farmed a single frog in my entire playtime. Even before the buffs it was fun to re-experience the content in a relevant way, and actually get drops from every mob that feels like something worth it instead of just junk. All of the mix and match abilities were pretty cool, even if rehashed, and being able to pump the numbers to silly levels was very entertaining. If you didn’t enjoy it then I just don’t think you’re gonna have much fun with the whole game period

The endless crap filling my bags at every quest was insanely annoying… don’t even cope like it wasn’t / isn’t

I find it amusing that, to me, this is exactly how Remix started.

It wasn’t though? All of it was currency, threads, or gear, which you could turn into more currency if you needed. The only stuff that ended up taking space was having all the kinds of gems, which I ended up just banking the ones I didn’t use often, and once you have one of them they don’t drop again. Disingenuous at best.

Meanwhile in retail wow or classic wow you get actual crap filling your bags, like junk, or random items, or like in dragonflight you get a zillion different reagent items for quests that should just be currencies but aren’t for some reason. Much worse imo

There was a billion consumables and endless gems.

By level 20 my bags were completely full of crap

I mean, yeah. Now we have an entire event of that. And the only “solution” is slightly better spawn rates over three weeks.

Wee.

It’s really the only way these trolls can communicate. Half truths and wild exaggerations/utter nonsense.

Agreed.

I tried it out last night when I had a couple of hours before bedtime and was so unengaged that after 15 min of killing blue ghosty mobs i just went to bed early.

I spent multiple characters questing and raiding and on the one I played the most and maxed out my gear I had 1 bag full of consumables. One.

I appreciate you correcting his nonsense. But don’t use too much energy feeding the trolls.

I love how remix v alues your time. I can make a lot of progress in only an hour.
