Pre-Patch Event vs. MoP Remix

Were these two things even made by the same company?

It’s like two entirely different schools of thought on player engagement, and it’s blatantly obvious which one players prefer.

So you can either pointlessly timegate my engagement with the content of an event, throttling players into the same area in a small timeframe and making it a laggy, bursty mess…

OR

You can make the event freely accessible and allow players to engage with it at their pace and freely swap characters to engage with alts at a decent pace as well.

What is even the point of the 90 minute timer? It just seems designed to be intentionally frustrating. I don’t get it.

This has been the worse prepatch event that I can remember. I usually level and gear up my alts doing them.

In the past these were fun. I just am finding this to be frustrating.

Did people already forget that remix started out giving people only a tiny fraction of currency and had to be buffed repeatedly over the course of a month for people to start feeling like it was worth it to do?

Not even talking about how buggy and poorly tuned the entire experience was.

Remember the Complaints, which is what I was going to point towards at the beginning. Then there was change which sped things up and made the event better.

I was here to see the amount of hate remix got in the beginning…

Let’s Not forget Frog Gate 2024 and until the change went through, remix had its fair share of unhappy players.

100% agree. The only reasoning I can think of is that they just don’t have enough content to allow us to freely experience it. They need this to drag out for 3 weeks where MOP remix is an entire expansion of content plus new stuff. This is obvious when you see tat every week, the reduce the 90 min timer to 60 mins, and then 30 mins. They should just re-hash old content in new ways and give people a lot more stuff to do. People obviously don’t have a problem with redoing content if its fun.

Yeah this part of the prepatch is really stupid. Instead of dropping the timer to 60 minutes next week and 30 minutes the week after that, it should have started at 30 minutes and stayed there. Just another example of Blizzard making something that could be fun and ruining it by asking, “How can we stretch this out to make people play as long as possible?”

Yes it is two entirely different system and types of events.

I think it really just underlines that Blizzard doesn’t really learn. Or if they do learn, they CHOOSE to make the same mistakes, and do it over and over again.

I mean people had problems with it but idk if it was really getting as much backlash as this. Although when the frog stuff happened idk ppl were p mad lol.

I think cause there was more stuff to do so like for me I was enjoying questing to really be upset about the bronze currency issues but eventually I reached that point and it was frustrating until they made some changes.

But in this case it’s like what else is there to do other than the pre-patch. I’m still playing remix so I’m like “let me get away from this mess…”

I’m not aware of this event, but based on the info given, I think I’m all set.

Well as Dev’s have their own ideas on how things should work, they implement those ideas into their game and then if it’s a go, players let them know and if not we let them know that as well.

Give and take type relationship. If all we had were yes men who just agreed with everything, we wouldn’t get change for the better and sometimes the worse.

This event, doesn’t seem to be a go, so now let’s hope there is change at some point down the road.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets hyped for pre-patches without any justification, only to be disappointed each time. lol.

IDK why I get hyped for it. They’re never good content. The closest thing was the legion invasion event, and they tried really hard to remove the fun from it. Luckily they decided against it and it wound up being the only one that didn’t suck, even if it was still pretty bland content.

Maybe I’m just hyped for the expansion, or an opportunity to catch up. But DF has been great for alts already, remix is even better, so I’m not bored or anything…

But I still don’t understand why they can’t put out a good pre-patch event. You’d think they’d want to have this really fun month-long thing that drives hype toward the coming expansion, but I think at this point they’d benefit more from not even making anything for this window of time. The pre-patch is more of a hype-killer than anything.

Some part of us hopes that they’ve learned from the past events and will work hard to get us hyped for the new expansion. And we get let down each time.

It’s weird that prepatch events peaked with Lich King, but here we are.

This isn’t accurate.

The gains were fine for the average player. The buff was in response to exploiters being too far ahead for the average person to catch up.

This isn’t exactly inaccurate but it is misleading.

It’s almost like Blizzard should have learned from that experience, and applied it to the pre-patch event.

Mop Remix has been very fun up until the pre-patch where many things broke , most impactful was the reputation boosting bug that no longer works so its going to cause a lot of us to not get those achievements. Other than that nothing really game breaking.

Remix sucks
