Pre-1.10 Alterac Valley

Well we do need more npcs fast games ruin your chances of summoning npcs to fight for you, like when you get a wing commander and people are already killing your boss.

Sadly this is the type of player blizzard will cater to.

Just give us 1.12 and not fiddle with too much of the game. Having content time gated is fine especially during content droughts in retail. Giving us 1.12 is the easiest thing and also gives Blizzard less opportunity to screw things up.

this may be true, however do you want purely 1.12 or do you want the best version of vanilla possible? i would prefer to have the best stuff available.

Would you rather have a fun game or chances of them breaking something and causing problems that may or may not be fixed? We have zero knowledge if they will keep working on Classic after they release it. Giving us 1.12 and stepping away is the the best solution. It stops any changes that may be done post launch. 1.12 is really the only thing I need and lets be real honest your idea of best is purely subjective and not everyone can agree what best really is.

that may be true, but from what i have seen on various different forums, most people seem to favor old av over new av.

So are you saying majority should dictate which features should be within the game? It’s a very slippery slope here. Just giving us a blanket 1.12 again is the simplest solution.

They will not earn my business by doing the “easiest thing”.

Who cares about your business? I’m sure other things Blizzard implements will cause other people to not play the game.

the easiest is not always the best thing though.
the easiest thing would have been to not make classic. and yet here we are.

clearly blizzard does, because they are making classic because people asked for it.
the whole point of classic is to make money no? and how do they do that best? by catering to those who are no longer subbed. that makes his, and people like his opinion very valid.

Are you for real?

Just realized that you are the guy who said he wants the AV version that is closest to the one in retail.

Right cause trying to keep the bloated retail up is really the easiest thing to do? Going back and making money off of something people want is really not that hard of a choice.

Again people will play Classic or not via things Blizzard may and or may not add within the game. Saying I won’t play because of X reason is asinine because it’s not going to matter if 1 or even if 1,000 people won’t play the game because of reason X because the numbers of people planning to play are much larger.

Oh it’s worth mentioning that the extra NPCs would slow the game down and give people time to do all the quests in the battleground. Removal of the NPCs seems like a bad design decision. It goes against the design of the rest of the battleground. At the very least, they should bring Korrac back. A boss at the neutral graveyard is an awesome idea and whoever removed it doesn’t like fun.

Whats asinine is your puting the effort into this duscussion when you previously admitted you’d play regardless, but that also you want the AV that most closely mirrors the one in modern retail. Then you insult those who DO care about the specific version that will be used. All from the perspective of a player who never played vanilla.

Your point if view is less than worthless in this discussion.

Not saying I disagree with you, but I was pretty sure the whole reason Classic came about was to protect the IP. Making money is obviously a benefit though.

" * The continuous fan requests are the reason Classic is now in development."

You don’t invest in a multi-year project just to protect your IP. They have lawyers for that.

again, i dont see how a different AV that is not 1.12, is any different than wanting guild banks thats not 1.12. both are being demanded for because of convenience (QOL).

normally i agree with you but here, i dont and nor do i agree with the op.
warts and all seem to only be convenient when it can be chopped off.

i play retail but im more interested in classic. if anything my words should carry more weight about the retail mindset you seem to have cause ive seen it myself in many different people ive met along the way.

wanting the “most efficient” way to do a grind isnt bad in itself, its just seeming like the current retail mindset of some players who are less than willing to do the journey.

ahh well. but ya keep calling me out cause ive got a max lvl char like i dont know what im talking about. did you play vanilla when it was live? i did.
