I don’t think it’s a stretch to say BfA is designed with the selfish and entitled player in mind. Thus a selfish oriented mindset is equatable to a BfA one, generally.

The fact that you do not know enough about retail to make that connection yourself does not make that connection any less valid.
Retail has become a game of rewards being handed out like candy(often for very little effort), yet players still complain because those rewards are not exactly what they wanted.
If something is not a total faceroll, the cries for nerfs are practically immediate and deafening.
It is even not necessary to set foot in retail to see this. All it really takes is about 5 minutes perusing the GD forums.

What I find more interesting is that you think if people like me are arguing for EZmode AV, that I’m 100% expecting to get that.
Not quite. Instead, when a body of citizens fights for their own selfish desires, sometimes the end result is a compromise for all.
I want quick AV, you want hours long. Compromise and we get a couple hour long AV.
I’d be bummed, you’d be bummed, but it would be a healthy medium.
With that said I hope I’m wrong and we end up getting the absolute quickest version of AV because I hate AV.

I do not blame you for avoiding GD.
I was just trying to explain why your desires could very easily be seen as a retail mindset and offer you a way to see that and make that connection for yourself.
Nah man, cancer runs in my family and I’d prefer to get it at 73 when life has no more meaning instead of at 30 when life also has no meaning but at least my pipes are functional. Ever seen Fight Club? Cancer patients look sickly and Chloe was having a hard time getting laid even as a female and that’s a rough life.
Of course I’m a virgin obviously so it doesn’t matter all that much.
More and stronger NPCs means more PvP, because it slows the racing down and allows defense to make much more of a difference.
Less and weaker NPCs strongly favors racing and makes it more like retail as we’ve had an awful version of AV for far over a decade.
If you don’t want a long, truly epic battleground, play WSG/AB.

so i guess them confirming the 1.12 didnt actually happen? or do people believe that they will make one exception with this and change it to pre 1.12?
how is this exception different than wanting guild banks, or anything else?
They confirmed 1.12 as the BASE of the game only.
As an example we are getting the old version of mounts and training.
(Originally riding training was cheap and mounts were expensive, this was changed later on, yet in classic were using the original method).
For all we know we could get 10 man dungeons and old A/V.
Do I expect that to happen? No. But I will hope.

im sorry but nothing you said makes sense. they are not using 1.12 as a base. they made very clear that 1.12 is the version we WILL be running. point blank.
we are getting whatever was in 1.12. mounts or otherwise and that includes AV.
but i will be open minded here-
can you link me to anywhere that they said we will be getting anything outside of 1.12.
if not- then your hope is your own disappointment. hope is nice, but pointless without being realistic.
just to add; i am trying to make valid points. these kind of things is what leads people to assuming that they can get such exceptions when it comes to anything else. if there is nothing solid, its best not to assume. but also, knowing what 1.12 IS or what it entails, is a good start to knowing what to expect.
at not time, have they ever said, that we would be running anything pre 1.12 or post 1.12.
Yes I will just be waiting here for the source that you’re about to link where they said they’re using the old style mount training instead of the system that was present in patch 1.12.
Private severs run the 1.12 version.
actually- most psevers run post 2.0 (BC) but are advertised as pre 1.12. hence why a lot of incorrect and misinformed people that come to the forums here, claiming that something should be in classic that never really existed.
never listen to anyone who uses a psever as an example.
psevers are never 1:1 to actual vanilla but include advancements that are for QOL purposes. to make it easier for them.
i have already debated 3 different people who have used their psever experiences as evidence that what was in the demo, was incorrect.
one was over pet auto assist, another was over hunter and pet tag/exp gain and another was from a different topic. all of them playing on an ‘vanilla’ server but had BC changes.
Old AV was the best AV. it was the closest wow ever got to feeling like a real faction/war battle. I would love to see goblin shredders again and all the NPC’s, it was the most fun I had in wow.
IMO it was the marks of honor that really started the demise of AV. Marks of honor where hard to come by. It created the cave dwellers who did nothing in AV. It fostered the hurry up and lose crowd. Marks of Honor should not be in AV.
We are not getting Vanilla wow, we are getting Vanilla wow with some changes. IMO nothing wrong with that. Why ship a broken product when just a few tweaks will create a better classic wow experience for everyone.

They could but I doubt it, Why would they have three versions of Molten Core for example…
