Definitely a most welcome feature!
Why not limit to one forum avatar? I see level 120’s every day making posts then replying to themselves on another 120 alt to agree with themselves.
Interesting change.
You mean of course that many people try to make unsubstantiated claims on shadow alts and now they will not be able to lie and trick some of the less sceptical posters who take what they read at face value.
Example: Someone says that dungeons in wow are super easy and they tell someone to get good. You can see they’ve never done a basic mythic 0 of any dungeon before.
You’re free to treat that garbage post like it’s a reasonable addition to the discussion. I won’t though.
Ugh mobile. I give up
It would seem that this change was made because it struck some nerve at some point otherwise who would actually care about peoples level? I’m amused by this change.
Only brainless people would check achievements and start calling what they lack in order to try make a comeback.
Either way the change is done lets see who will be the first in proving my point.
This is awesome! Now the trolls can’t hide behind a level 0 toon:joy:
I used my bank alt to post on. I never considered him a “shadow alt”. Just my bank toon, who has never completed any quests, just ran straight from Northshire to Stormwind and has never left.
I really don’t see how it matters what avatar is shown to the left. It’s still me.
Nope that’s not what I mean at all, and people make that claim at all levels. Now they’ll just use level 55 or 98 characters.
I mean people who will try to claim someones opinion is invalid because of what shows up in the armory. Discuss the contents of their post, not their avatar.
Agreed. Wholeheartedly.
Makes no difference which icon is showing to the left.
Won’t make any positive difference to the forum. So far I can’t see the armory of people anyway and that is what some low levels were trying to hide since people were tracking them down in the game and harassing some of them.
The other group who were using lvl 1s were European players who made accounts on this forum because they figured their input has more value here than on the European forums.
Click on the player’s name. An interactive box will come up. On the right may be a link to their armory. If it is not there, then the player has hidden their profile (inadvertently or otherwise–yours comes up hidden, but others’ do not.)
Honestly I don’t think it’s that impactful a change beyond making a few people with existing characters they like posting on having to level them up a bit. Creating a posting alt and working on it a bit isn’t beyond the ability of the more dedicated trolls among us. The rest of us may have to level a bank alt or something. My bank alt is level 90 or something. (I’m totally incapable of having a level 1 alt.)
Did you know that people can just armory this character (yours) and check your achievements regardless? it wont matter now. Private profile doesnt mean much when you can just armory anyone here. Since everyone is level 20+ means you have access to know who’s an alt and who isnt.
Like I said before someone got really upset and made such change that they don’t want to see anyone with any kind of privacy.
If I was you I would start expecting certain players to start using your lack of certain achievements to prove a point.
An unexpected and welcomed change. Though instead of level 1 shadow monsters posting about level 10s will be the new level 1.
Eh still a good change in my books
i wish in the armory you can see all the characters the person plays. hides the shadows
Implying you don’t know how to armory someone, it’s really easy to see who’s an alt, who raids, who doesnt, who actually is an altoholic and who isnt with this new system. Since all dungeon/raid/leveling achievements are account wide.
For the RP servers and the “Trolls” that like to do this, I am OVERjoyed to see this change!
Thank the Earth Mother and may An’she guide the person who allowed this beautiful change. ((RP happens))
This really won’t stop trolls, getting to level 10 is pretty easy.
