Population issues

There is clearly a serious population issue on quite a few servers. Kromcrush for example seems to have an 8 horde to 1 alliance swing. World pvp, questing, dungeons, bgs, all jacked up. The imbalance is forcing more and more players every day to jump ship or server transfer causing a greater shift in the population. Any chance blizzard is going to merge some low pop servers to fix any of these issues or is blizzard just going to just give the shaft to those who don’t have the extra income to transfer their characters?

It absolutely blows my mind that they do nothing to help server communities flourish.

Some people don’t have the extra money to transfer or the time to reroll, so they straight up quit. That person doesn’t join a community, they leave it all, in turn hurting server and game population and longevity.

They should add Faction Queues. This warns people that one population is way too high, without ‘blocking’ their guildies or friends from joining them.

They should also enable faction transfers to the faction in need. Make it free, make it cost, people will do it.

It boggles me they shoot themselves in the foot by not encouraging server health.

Blizzard never found a solution to these problems until they started Connected Servers and Cross-Realm play.

… and I for one don’t want that on TBC.

The PVP community all chose the Horde because of the leet racials etc. So merges etc won’t fix it, and I’m pretty sure no-one is asking for nerfs to racials to fix the choice imbalance.

They do help. They offer server transfers. Y’all are the ones who wanted mega servers because anything less than 10k people os a dead server.

Who?

I don’t think its the peoples’ fault Blizzard crammed Retail populations onto Vanilla sized maps, which in turn caused layering.

And if you’re talking about ‘streamer fanboys’, well, we know what those opinions are worth.

It’s your fault for knowingly STAYING on an over pop server. Do you know how many people on here, Reddit, and Facebook complain about over pop servers but then act like blizzard should do something?

They did: you can pay to transfer servers. You knew the server was crowded already. You choose to ask for a handout instead of paying to transfer like i did. What about the people who willingly paid to transfer? What about our money? Blizzard won’t just negate that.

You know I am on an overpopulated server?

Do tell.

Do you also know what I ate today?

Literally about to just transfer off now, can barely find a group for a normal dungeon prime time friday night

Server population issues can be designed around so people have an enjoyable experience.

Most players don’t care at all if they play on a balanced realm and in fact they shouldn’t.

CRZ is not a solution, it is a mask that hides the problem. Blizzard could have put in a certain race that has been a hot button request on Alliance side since beta back in Legion instead of making up yet another blue elf race. They chose not to. That would not have been a total fix, but it would have begun the process. All CRZ does is hide how dead a server pairing is.

A good 85% of people who reside on extremely populated realms at the very least.

Like I said, I don’t see anyone asking for racials nerfs.

pagle horde feels the struggle too. ally is sitting 100% pop currently and its utter trash. blizz has turned to trash and the game is following close behind… so unfortunate

I was on Mankrik.

I took the free transfer to Windseeker.

I don’t regret it.

Herod is crazy, horde are almost near 5k player base with Alliance hovering around 1,500k how was this allowed to happen? Why or who at blizzard thought in there “infinite wisdom” doaahhh… yeah, lets throw an almost 4 to 1 ratio and everything will be ok if we just add layers…???

People get payed to make these kind of decisions is what is more mind boggling then anything else.
There should of been a strict limit cap on one faction say no more then 400 players from one or another faction and when it does go over you get thrown in a queue time to log into game or the realm gets locked and you can’t create a character.

I’m fighting an uphill battle, I try ganking as many horde as I can, sure sometimes they get the best of me, but it’s never because of a 1v1. It’s kind of funny the the horde will 8v1 or 20v2 you then spit, laugh emote on your dead body like they did something special.

And even in balance realms (pvp) horde tend to always be the aggressor.
I’ve notice for the most part Alliance are too kind with them, if they see a horde fighting a mob and is about to die knowing full well they could gank them, they won’t…

It truly is a surreal experience playing alliance vs horde.
It’s almost like a system of dogma exist at a subconscious level and we know which is which.

Kromcrush used to be about even? what the hell happened

I played on Incendius(A), We went from the largest server with a 50/50 split to 80/20 server in 3 days a little over a year ago. Now its a 99/1 dead pvp server.

Tofu in a spinich wrap?

But when they connected realms they did so without considering population imbamances.
