Poor response for XP buff

The reason that Blizzard makes every decision based upon the eSports/competitive player group even though it makes up at most a single digit percentage of the player base is because of corporate sponsorships that far outweigh the cash raked in from the general player bases’ subs. It’s a simple conclusion to reach honestly, they are a business and in business the biggest source of income speaks the loudest and in order to keep those sponsors they have to focus on keeping competitive alive and well. At least until the money dries up and they move to the next thing.

even if they are removing the exp buff. today would of been a good day to add chromie time for 50-60. that same SL route is making me dry heave.

Just cancel your subscriptions for a month or two. If they get the hint, they can put it back. If they don’t, no need to give them money for actively ignoring us again like they did with Shadowlands. If they stumble at a no brainer, DF is freaking doomed anyway.

I was hoping for a response at all, even if the answer wasn’t what I had hoped. I didn’t continue to go on and on about it, I thanked them for their reply and have moved on.

A season=patch which this game has had since its inception. It has zero to do with eSports.

The XP buff doesn’t change the game AT ALL. Not a single bit other then letting you level faster, they are the same levels otherwise but they take a little bit longer. Honestly there are ways to level super fast anyways without the XP buff but that’s another topic.

Nothing is stopping you from playing alts if you want to level alts. The loss of the XP buff doesn’t change anything game wise, just makes it a smidge slower which if you enjoy alts then it doesn’t matter because you are enjoying the actually playing the alts.

If you find it intolerable because you don’t have the XP buff then it’s not really about the alts leveling or otherwise.

No one said anything about frothing at the mouth and i certainly hope you are not frothing at the mouth.

Ok. Taking you at your word but that doesn’t change how it looks to me.

Personally i hope they do keep it especially since i have so many alts. So good luck with that and whatever you decide to play.

Well, since you got said response you certainly weren’t, and I quote, “wasting [your] breath making all of these suggestions.”

I’ll bet gold that the buff will return as we get closer to the Dragonflight pre-patch. I think it’s smart for Blizzard to not announce XP buffs in advance, as people will just hold off leveling and complain when it doesn’t come soon enough.

For evidence of this, see WoW Classic.

They often align but it isn’t a requirement. Seasons were created for eSports. We have not had seasons for the entirety of the game even though we had patches. Plus there was no patch today.

Bingo, Yahtzee, our survey says, Blizz won’t change no matter what BS they spew from their two-faced mouths. They don’t give a damn about the players as much as they would like us to believe they do.

100% agree that this drives everything. It’s the mobile game-ification of WOW. Every decision (Artifact Power, Conduit Energy, Profession Tables, Flight Paths) are designed to maximize player engagement. Just like network TV shows are just the thing that keeps you watching commercials; the Dungeons and Raids are just the carrot to keep you on the hamster wheel.

Season is just another name for a patch also there were major changes to the game today even with there being no new patch.

All of the things you listed make sense as reasons to drive player retention, but removing the XP buff and not allowing people to get Slime Cat through LFR are the exact opposite of trying to drive player retention. I think that’s why people are so confused on why they are making these decisions. In the past, you could pretty much chalk up most of their decisions to staring at MAU metrics and that’s about it. Now? Who knows honestly :dracthyr_shrug:

Let me save you the pain of wondering. Blizzard et al care about one thing. You spend your money with them. After that they could give two figs about you. I live with it, I’m hoping for your own sake you can too. Be well (I’ll say it since Blizz don’t care if you’re dead so long as you slot your CC)

Leveling hasn’t been good since legion when they normalized levels idk what your on about

iv said it once ill say it over and over, Blizzard NEVER EVER will give the players what they want. they never have never will

I think this highlights why bonuses like these can actually be a bad thing depending on your perspective. The more you get used to playing with them, the less you want to play when they’re not available. At that point, the bonuses become your ‘normal’ experience and you no longer enjoy the game without them. Since these bonuses aren’t available more often than they are, is the game worse off for introducing them if players don’t want to play without them?

it means “players leveling new mains for the M+ or Raiding push.”.

glad i could help.

Yeah their reason is pathetic and just lame. Why in the world should anyone in charge of this game care that players have a 50% buff until pre patch?

It’s over SL is essentially over the only people who are still hurrying to get content done are raiders for stuff like the slimecat mount or aotc. But those players I’m betting were already level capped when the 50% xp buff was active. So how was it to benefit season 4?

This and their dumb logic for handling pre orders for the collector’s edition doesn’t really demonstrate to me that blizzard changed in mindset at all towards being better to their customers. They still have a stick up their backside. Never understood how blizzard just can’t loosen up on simple stuff that just makes things nicer or more fun for their customers. It’s so weird.
