Super lame. I’m thinking they’ll bring it back a month or two before DF like others are saying. Here’s to hoping.
Problem with todays wow is that you need a lot of max level toons especially if you’re a collector. They’ve made some mounts so absurdly low every extra chance you can get per lockout is beneficial.

I wonder if there isn’t some orders from higher up to do as much damage to MAU before Microsoft takes over?
I wouldn’t attribute this decision to malice. I’m sure it seems that way… with all the decisions they’ve been making… but I doubt they’re out to make things worse. They probably want to make it better “their way” but that’s why I want to suggest they bring back this xp buff!
I think it will make plenty of folks happy to keep playing the way they want to play.
They put in the effort to do this experiment, and want to funnel people into the fated garbage and dungeon rotation m+. No thanks. They clearly are narrow minded to what can bring them more participation and continue to focus on this raid or dungeon nonsense. Wish I was in that category but seemingly they don’t want players like me in this game.

I mean I get it if the buff never goes away then what’s the point? It’s a nice incentive to for people who want to level. Although in the content lull right now it seems appropriate to extend it.
Also it’s funny how the community council person was rude to you. SMH.

I have been playing since day 1 and my account has never lapsed. I found fun things to do in every expansion prior, but at some point in Shadowlands I just stopped wanting to log in. I had stayed away from the game for months before the bonus xp with no desire to play. I decided to jump back in and level some alts while the xp buff was up, and was actually enjoying logging in again. I am not sure that I am going to feel the same way when servers come back up. I hope I do, but am concerned that the same things that burned me out before will cause me to get bored again. Blizzard did so well with the announcement of Dragonflight, but since they continue to take L after L due to their decisions/communication. Why can’t they just keep moving in the right direction? It’s like they can’t get out of their own way.

Nothing is stopping them from keeping leveling alts all they want. This was a small bonus and i personally like it very much (as do all my alts) and wish it would stay as well but the threat of “keep this or i leave” (no matter how it’s dressed up) is not an effective argument.

The sheer irony that the Community Council is a trainwreck sometimes and it isn’t because Blizzard is inactive there like people thought it’d be.
Glaivedancer can be right sometimes, but that dude’s posts are entitled beyond belief most of the time.

Caught wind of this over on reddit just now
Warning, the comments section down below is not in a good mood re: the Community Council

My opinions are strong and I’m not afraid to voice them, I never make claim that I’m always right and Blizzard is always wrong. They do not have to say yes to every suggestion, that’s not how the world works. However, that’s not going to stop me from saying about how I feel about something whatever the case may very well be.

and if that is all you are after is the storyline, you know the quests dont disappear once you hit 60. you can still do them. nice try though.

Honestly, the problem is levelling 50-60 when you are forced to slog through Shadowlands for the fifteenth (or whatever) time. 10-50 doesn’t really need the buff, but it made those last 10 levels SO much better.

It’s not a threat. It’s a result. If the xp buff is gone, I don’t actually enjoy playing the game the way it is right now. I would love to keep leveling up my alts to max but I’m really over Shadowlands. This xp buff made it tolerable like I shared in a previous post.
Another option is to extend Cromie time to 60 - that would be awesome and I would do that all the way to 60 without an xp buff.
Oh, I guess I’ll at least give the Torgast to 60 grind a try. If that’s fun I’ll slow roll an alt or two maybe?
Since neither of those are available I think I’ll keep playing classic until I’m done with that. Then we’ll see what state dragonlands is in and I might come back for that.
I don’t think there’s any frothing of the mouth demands here - it’s just a statement of “hey - this stuff is good - keep it around and I’ll keep playing retail”. Seriously. That’s it.

I agree. 10 to 50 is fast enough with or without an XP buff. It’s having to level in Shadowlands that is a trainwreck of an experience. Even with Threads of Fate and Bonus Objectives it doesn’t make the experience anymore fun. It also feels like a slog compared to leveling from 10 to 50.

This post is about the xp boost that should still be in game and is not. What does the CC have to do with this. And sorry I’m not going to go pages into to a crap place like reddit to find the relevance in your post.
This is why Blizzard doesn’t do cool stuff more frequently. No matter what they do, people still come to the forums and cry.

This exactly. I used the buff to get my last three under-50 classes to 50, then stopped. I’m just sick of leveling through Shadowlands, be it through campaign or Threads of Fate.
I’m considering just taking a break until they either bring back the buff or Chromie Time gets extended through 60 – whichever comes first.

Welcome to the club.
However - and this is not a jab at you as a person outside of the game, but rather just you as a poster on the WoW forums - this post of yours isn’t even feedback at this point. It’s a rant for the sake of ranting. It’s indistinguishable from half the drivel you’d see on r/wow or on GD - and I’ve posted plenty of that sort of junk myself. Only difference is, your text is yellow and mine is not.
You aren’t owed a response just because your text is yellow; I’d argue that your little subforum got more blue posts in less than a full year than we’ve seen across the board in all of BFA and pre-9.1.5 Shadowlands combined. But the way you responded there comes across as extremely entitled, at least to me.
Plus, you DID get a response, ultimately. It just wasn’t the one you were hoping for.

They had nothing to lose and everything to gain by extending the buff. This is just piss poor decision making at its finest.

And I thank you for speaking your opinions even if I don’t always agree, I just wish they’d ‘trim the fat’ so to speak and replace the half of the councilors that haven’t even posted once in the publicly viewable CC forum
