Yes, but I am almost positive they broke teleport/fly hack software during last week’s maintenance.
they broke the cheap version. there are still workable ones, you can see it yourself if you go to EPL
Ah. Thanks for the insight. #sigh. They really need to break that altogether.
Yes, but multiboxing uses 0 scripts. It just duplicates the command.
Yes but scripting isn’t always how bots work. Sometimes they abuse scripts but those ones tend to super detectable. The really really good ones run on a custom client and edit packets in real time, and if the server relies to heavily on client input for location detection it can be spoofed and you get teleport hacking.
VPN’s are still legal, and Servers are not location locked.
VPN to Argentina, and buy a copy of the game. That will allow you to pay 6 month sub for like 10$. Then just create a toon on the US Servers and enjoy your extra 10$ a month.
2 weeks of long maintenance. They know how many accounts they are losing before they made this decision. Probably not that many since they made this decision.
Actually multi boxing is not banned. Just 3rd party keystroke broadcasting software. In theory if you mechanically linked 5 keyboards together you could legally do the same exact thing.
How would you know this?
It’s about time. They must have started losing money from multiboxers somehow? The prevalence of cheap Argentinian accounts is my bet. Whatever the case, I’m glad these cheaters are getting the boot.
Documentaries on television that show what bot farms look like in real life.
It’s literally rows of hundreds of Chinese people all babysitting dozens of bots each.
So is it “relatively” safe to come back and level characters on pvp servers now?
I’m sure someone will find a way around it that won’t involve something like this.
no, blizz let the pay for transfer system ruin so many servers. Multiboxer or not. some servers are dead because 1000+ players of 1 faction al xferred same day
yeah in the MB discord not a single one of us does this… i find it funny you solo players know this… hmmm interesting how you guys know of this
That’s true. Our game time is 2$ per month. 1,25$ if you count it in “Dolar blue”.
Honestly, one of the only good things of living here (LF a NZ Patnership visa pls. HELP ME < Screams into oblivion > )
ok but you do realize how ridiculous your comment lol like who is actually gonna do that
they already did 30years ago… called a KVM switch/splitter 40bucks on amazon… mines already on its way to my door
What Zufa says here is on point. I’m conflicted about this…mostly because I think it misses the mark. At the end of the day, gold sellers (especially at the enterprise level) are fully aware that they are breaking the TOS - getting accounts banned is just part of the business model. They’ll keep using the software - and as history has shown, Blizzard isn’t exactly breaking bots so much as banning them in intervals as that has a higher ROI. This is going to slow the bots/farmers down but that’s about it.
On the flipside, I leveled 9 mages in classic to multibox - in a sense they became an extension of my primary character. They all have different colors of the bun hair cut and a familiar name variation. And having nine mages decked in t2-t2.5 allows me to do some crazy stuff, and I won’t deny that that capacity really ticks some people off.
I doubt most people here will understand or believe me, but the whole reason I leveled these characters was because I could provide for friends and guildies who couldn’t farm their consumes, or needed help getting gear crafted or rep farmed - I’m not sure I could say I’m well known on my server/faction but without a doubt have been blessed to give to others in ways that blow them away. I’ve helped many guildies farm Scarab Lord, pre-bis, attunements, provide flasks or bloodvine sets; the list goes on.
Being on this side of the debate has changed my perspective on a lot of things. I think that a lot of the frustration with multiboxing is warranted, but that the frustration is largely with those who abuse it as a part of a banned business model rather than people like me. Are there a lot of horde who are upset that I was able to 1-shot anyone with a fireblast? Undoubtedly - just as upset I was that it took me 90 minutes to get from thorium point to BRD in phase two.
Ultimately, multiboxing does make gold farming easier and is easily abused by gold sellers; it encourages account buying and selling, including the use of bots to level characters on accounts to sell. I don’t regret multiboxing one bit but I’m not surprised this is where we’re at.
It just makes me sad, because it’s another bandaid, not a solution.
Ok, while you are doing these changes, can you PLEASE allow feral druids to talk to vendors and quest givers while in Cat/Bear form?
