Policy Update for Input Broadcasting Software

You know… if Blizzard minds us multiboxing, why are there options to launch multiple WoW clients right from the Blizzard launcher…?

Good move.

You mean you cheated since then???

Multiboxing being banned, let alone being considered cheating, is also not comparable to input broadcasting software being disallowed, but continue on in your fantasy land.

All this makes me want to do is merge my accounts down to as few as I can and then cancel the other subscriptions. I have never used multiboxing to mess with the economy such as herbing/mining. I mainly use my team to farm old xmogs for all armor classes. I understand I can still have multiple accounts and tab between them but it seems a little messed up after years of having this program be considered ok.

You realize the only thing that’ll change is people will start armorying you just like before raider.io was a thing, right?

They can do anything they want so if they break it they will. Keep trying to save your bs.

You can have multiple clients up, you just can’t use a program to link all your accounts together.

Also, I love how you linked this post and just ignore the very important second half of it, don’t even try with me.

Please note, however, that use of input broadcasting software may result in account penalties.

with resources? Could have solved that by going to the old fashioned nodes where you couldn’t spam gather in a group.

Will there be a distinction between this single keystroke sent to multiple windows and sending a single keystroke to a single background client with another client in focus?

For example: Playing your warrior in the active wow window and having an alt shaman logged in on another account. Pressing a single keystroke that is sent to the shaman’s wow client via some software without tabbing over to that client to have him heal the warrior. That single keystroke would cause no action to be taken on the warrior’s client whatsoever. Will that also be considered against the rules?

Truth. I was sitting on the murloc shore in azuna farming honor off a multibox druid team. I would mind control them off into the water and try to get them stuck on debris to no avail. They would just robotically jump back onto their path and go about their moonfire looting business. I can guarantee you that ISboxer cannot do that.

Yes, but that is against the ToU which means Blizzard still takes them out of the game. The problem is that when they do this, they just make an new account and do it again. It sucks, but that is the reality of things. It’s not easy to just stop it that is why Blizzard goes for the programs being used and get them to be stopped. It slows them down.

nah, they did the best solution which is just ban it altogether. don’t change the rest of the game for everyone else just to try to dampen multiboxing when it shouldn’t even be allowed in the first place.

It’s’ not a crime to log into multiple accounts at once. What they’re coming out against is using one key press to initiate 1 action on each account all at once. If you wanna have two accounts and put yourself on follow then you’re still fine. You just can’t have one key press cause both characters to do an action.

Praise the Titans! I never thought I’d see this day.

Although, not to be “that cow,” but… we know that botting is already banned and yet it continues, sometimes seemingly unabated.

So I doubt we’ve seen the last of the 10 boomkin crew mass farming herbs. But at least it will hopefully be a lot less going forward.

/moo :cow:

Oh wow, they changed the support link already.

All the people linking it as some sort of defense are actively shooting themselves in the foot. I love it.

They aren’t against multiboxing. They are against using software that applies a single key press to give inputs to multiple clients. Multiboxing by itself is fine.

You know whats funny? When I linked you that, it hadn’t been updated with the line you just quoted back at me. They are scrambling.
