Policy Update for Input Broadcasting Software

/follow has been disabled in BGs for, well, a long time now. I’m not sure how popular doing that in the open world would be.

Hate to burst your bubble but this will have almost 0 effect on the economy. Botters will still bot.

And blizzard agrees with them

Hey, cool, a 100% reportable real life threat.

Not quite… If a mob drops 5 gold, that gold is shared. But you are correct when it comes to drop that you’ll get an increased chance to get loot that sells for more gold.

But if you do world bosses etc, you dont kill them faster because they scale to the numbers of players attacking them.

My point is his original comments were directed by robert b weide.

Thank you. Christmas came early this year…

Some dev must’ve finally read the ToS.

I love you, Blizzard. I love you so much.

Follow has important gameplay functions, especially when super precision is required. For example, on Mythic Jaina it’s common in some groups to /follow 1 person to keep the group stacked after defeating the elementals.

I think we disagree about whether it should or should not have violated the rules. But I am happy to have dissenting opinions now that yours is obviously built on a strong understanding of the situation.

Why do you hate NoHitJerome?! HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO PUMP!?

you’re confusing botting with multiboxing. botters are those who use scripts or whatever to automate their characters… Multiboxers on the otherhand are actively at their computer hitting keys.

This is a video game.

I like the part where both of your examples are situations where the ‘fun’ activity creates an inherently unfun situation for people on the other side.

In PVP both result in one sided fights where the ‘normal’ player can’t stand a fighting chance, and in PVE the multiboxer just utterly screws the server’s economy under the guise of ‘fun’.

“Some chump blue quest that’s elite” will merrily murder clothies, or make the kill extremely challenging and take ages. Those Nazjatar WQ bosses were no joke, and the Invasion elites in Uldum and Pandaland were annoying enough without another pack wandering into you and ending your day.

You can turn on growl and press 1 until loot happens. I just leave cause waiting for someone who can kill it to show up is boring.

I swear people have forgotten what a figure of speech is.

Amending rules isn’t a change to the games playstyle

This is another ignorant change. Botters don’t need to software to repeat keys to multiple because they’re not at their keyboards for the keys to be repeated anyway, maybe it means they have to run a single bot per client now instead of one bot for multiple clients but this doesn’t stop anything to do with botting.

I’m sure they had read it previously. It would be more accurate to say “Some devs must have finally decided to ban an action some of us forum-dwellers found undesirable”. See how the new statement doesn’t assume gross incompetence by a group whose competence you don’t have sufficient information to judge?
