Watch a guide or two. I tried it for first time and am getting 1k - 1.5k coins per game. You may be doing something wrong.
It’s not hate, it’s nerves.
Folks get anxious when having to react to an actual person, verses a scripted NPC.
Mobs respawn this time around. I was pretty consistently getting around 1000 plunder without fighting another player. I got all the new stuff in a few hours.
The 800 daily quest might be enough to just do one or two a day to get it all by the end.
I just live long enough to do the daily then go as long as I can until I die getting a little extra…
Maybe. Flower picking sounds kinda relaxing after work tho.
Thanks to the individuals that provided some helpful advice. I may consider making another attempt. I gotta psych myself up first though to consider re-entering. But I really want those pets/mount.
If you don’t die in the first 30 seconds it takes about a minute to do your daily quests and get 1000+ plunder. If that’s all you need.
The edges of the map are the safest places because they have low mob density and people don’t want to fall behind on xp.
Plunderstorm is really just RNG, unfortunately. Sometimes you pick a spot thats empty to land in, sometimes you pick a spot that 2 others have picked and they land on top of you and kill you.
The best thing about about Plunderstorm is that you keep everything even if you die, so it all slowly adds up. You’ll have good games, and other games people will just be jerks and try to kill you immediately.
Just roll the dice and try it, but don’t take it seriously. Collect, die, move on to the next until you get what you need. Honestly I just had my TV and watched a show during most of my time playing.
Non-PVPers need to internalize that this is a “them” problem. I hate raiding. I dont post about it on the forums constantly.
RNG is a factor, but it is not the only one. Even if the best player doesn’t win every game, they will win more often than worse players. Plunderstorm is RNG in the same way Magic is RNG.
And some people take magic far more seriously than others. I just like the art on the cards, others go to tournaments and know all the rules. You get what you put in to it.
Glad its a optional game mode that you dont need to do and is fun for others. So stop crying and. Trying to get attention youre an adult for crying out loud act like one.
I understand where you are coming from. I actually chose to grind this PS because I want my mounts and pets.
Yeah, I sometimes got my butt handed to me in the first few moments of landing…yes frustrating.
However, there was one time we all agreed to focus on the big bosses and collect as much plunder as possible before we start killing each other. A fluke, I know, but it was nice to see some sort of cooperation.
I got my mounts, toys, and battle pets…so now I’m helping my hubby.
I recommend you do duo’s. Switch off on who loots the plunder and you can knock it out and get your mounts and pets pretty quickly.
How do you tell where the storm is? I tried last year but died from that storm because I was so busy looting things, I didn’t notice.
I think this is ultimately the big thing. Plunderstorm is a silly little minigame for some pirate mogs but it’s still got strategy and nuance, and understanding those things yields better results than chalking every mistake up to bad RNG.
It’s absolutely fine to not care about that, especially given there’s no competitive aspect to plunderstorm at all, it just feels like this malaise hanging over certain parts of the community is putting people off more than the gameplay itself.
I don’t enjoy BRs, I don’t really like PvP all that much anymore, and when I started playing plunderstorm I sucked. Then I started to learn where the better spots were, what the good items were, how to evaluate a fight from a distance and my awareness got better. Now I’m getting to the final ring maybe 80% of the time and winning a bunch. You get out what you put in, as you said.
Wow, that’s a bit rude.
Clearly you are missing the point of forums.
It’s a place to air your concerns, questions, and grief’s and get help from other players.
Oh the irony of this post. You’re literally doing exactly what you’re telling me not to do.
The sheer lack of self-awareness in this post boggles the mind.
It starts at the edge of the zone then closes in over time. The minimap / map shows a blue ring where the storm is and a blue dotted ring where the storm is converging to. The storm converges every 40 seconds or so, making the map smaller and smaller.
I don’t really like the mode but I already have one of the new mounts playing it once per day for the daily bonus plunder. 800 daily plunder for the daily quest (it tells you what to do once you land in the quest log) + getting whatever I get before the storm comes. I’ve gotten usually 1600+ per day but I did play it last time to get all the rewards so knowing how it works probably helps.
If you really want the cosmetics but hate the mode just try to do the dailies. Once you understand the basics of the mode you’ll be able to get decent plunder for 5 minutes of effort a day.
