Plunderstorm is PVP like Arby’s is a restaurant. Yes, technically. But no.
User name checks out.
Plunderstorm is terrible though. Saying so as someone who does pretty well in it. It’s just an awful experience all round, feels like a made for mobile mode.
The “Plunderstore” is out of place in WoW too. Pirates don’t hit up Amazon with their plunder, we should be catching a boat down to Booty Bay and spending it there.
What’s the inherent hate of PvP? Just pretend the other people are NPC’s like your dungeons and raids. Use your spells to kill that NPC.
Someone explain it to me, are people afraid of “losing” to a human??
I don’t mind the PvP part but why didn’t they just put something new and fun into retail so we can use our actual toons? Or how about just add some cool mogs and rewards to in-game BGs… It’s not rocket science.
I think my only real issue with it is the people sometimes. Just landed and some guy apparently decided to wait for me at the edge of the area to ambush me (stealthed and all) when they could have been collecting plunder elsewhere.
If someone is going to waste their time on a lowly lvl 1 I will gladly waste their efforts. I decided to run back into the storm after they launched their sneak attack and I denied them my 40 plunder. I’m normally more accepting of my fate, but I’m not above being petty.
Sometimes it’s not about what the other person has to gain. It’s about the message.
OP, If you’re still struggling I might be able to help you farm a little tomorrow.

lol skill issue
They had to come up with something. Very few people are doing M+, a lot of guilds are done with raiding, less and less people login daily. So they had to come up with something till next major content patch so they reuse old content. Personally I haven’t login since Nov and casually login npast two weeks just for fun. Don’t think I will be playing S2 either the dungeon pools for S2 is horrible and from a lot of streamer the new area sucks. The special ground mount they have for th enew zone is super difficult to control and you ran into walls and objects all the time. Also it seems class balance is a major issue
so land at the docks, clear it out and quit
It’s not that hard to get over 1,000 plunder per match. Land on the edge of the map and work your way in while avoiding other players.
I always pick the upper right zone to start. I land on the bear. There’s a patch close by with a lot of plunder. And then I make my way to a farm , almost always has chests, abilities laying around, and plunder. It’s much easier this time.
oh look another person whining like a petulant child about a game mode that’s existence doesn’t effect hem what so ever
You’re 100% correct.
To me this isn’t wow…it’s something they may try to put on the App Store one day
The other colorway of that shovel is from the garrison herb garden, and requires 90 days of flower picking. Definitely worth doing 2 rounds of chunderstorm instead.
Your right it isn’t WoW or WoW PvP it’s a Battle Royale game with WoW assets on it. It’s really not hard not does it require any measure of skill to earn the rewards. The earning is so easy it might well be log on and participate. Most ppls problem is they automatically think it’s WoW PvP, as someone that does mostly PvP, trust me it’s not the same game, the ppl mostly “successful” at Plunderstorm are Battle Royale type game players. Funny thing is most of the complaints are from ppl that admittedly didn’t even participate in the last Plunderstorm event, so what exactly are you complaining about? Ijs after the last event they even put out a TP pirate set because of the same ppl complaining Damn just mog up your yellow recolor set and go back to PVE Or ppl like you are on here trying to complain up another recolor? JK but it really is too easy to get the rewards and they are beautiful with MAD Tmog potential , but change your perception about the gameplay, mine is the above mentioned and I’m only playing it long enough to get the rewards and go back to playing the real WoW game with more non class specifics cosmetics. It’s day 4 of Plunderstorm and honestly most casual players had everything offered the first evening of playing, especially if you participated in the first event.
The oar is 1000, that’s a single round. Honestly depending what quest you get it’s less than a minute of playtime with the daily.
If someone needs a bottle of whiskey for that then it says more about them than anything…
They’re really, really bad at the game.
WoW PVP as it is, is pretty much trash so Plunderstorm not being WoW and like an off brand worse version with forced PVP being trash isn’t exactly a shocker.
You’re right, I’m really bad at Pluderstorm.
@Malnath
To answer why the “inherent hate of PvP”, it’s simple - I don’t like playing against other players. I never had in any game ever. It’s nowhere near the same as playing against braindead NPCs, so “Just pretend the other people are NPC’s” doesn’t work. NPCs are dumb and scripted and can’t fight back the same way an actual person can. I don’t like or want the challenge of fighting against a real person. I just want to nuke and run.
Personally I’m the opposite. I don’t like the direction WoW PvP has gone since MoP but really enjoy plunderstorm for its simplicity and the ability to queue up and have some fun with mechanics and physics Im completely familiar with.
