Plunderstorm, not for me

Thank you, that will be helpful if I give this a try this year. But I’ll have to remember to look at my minimap!
I’m generally really slow reacting and doing things so I might try it but not sure how well I’ll do.

The minimap also shows where nearby elites are too. One thing you learn as you get better is where most of the elites are, if you know there should be one on the map but it’s not there then someone already killed it. If you see elites near you on the map disappear you know there’s someone nearby who killed one.

Also they need to land directly on an elite. That usually gets you really close to leveling up. Then kill NPV’s and plunder.

I love pvp.

But I love pvp in WoW, with my character I’ve been pvping with for years.

I don’t want to play plunderstorm, I want to play WoW.

So yes plunderstorm is completely ignored by me and I find it funny to watch people force themselves do content they hate for a few rewards they will forget about come next month lol

Landing directly on elites is bad. The first thing you kill (Including with the bird) gives a power, if you kill an elite with the bird you basically get 1 less power because elites always give powers.

Land on a clump of regular mobs near an elite, grab whatever dropped, then kill the elite and start clearing the area.

Plunderstorm, for me.

Got all my loots i wanted (which was most of it) real quick.

i even did the majority of it in pacifist mode, which is to say i usually had defensive/evasive powers instead of doing combat with folks, which is to say i didn’t even PvP for most of it.

I’ve been landing on elites and they give me two powers. Maybe you are seeing something different than me. IDK

Plunderstorm Guide for People Who Hate PVP:

  • Find a spot on the map where other people aren’t landing to land. Preferably, you want to crash into an elite first. You can see where the other birds are dropping people off if you don’t immediately dive. You’ll most likely quickly develop a favorite spot that you know the mobs and layout of.
  • Focus your quests. You get one daily quest and then one quest per game that will give you a sizeable Plunder boost. They’ll be on the right side of the screen. Once you know the layout better you’ll know where the chests are and what they look like if you need to, say, collect one item, or how to spot an elite. You can take an elite even at level 1, just don’t forget to heal frequently! (The mug icon)
  • Avoid, avoid, avoid. If you see another player, go the other way. If you start getting attacked, RUN. You get a barrel by default to make that easier. It’s about 50/50 if they’re going to waste their entire game chasing you around the map, and once you’re safe you can start grinding again.
  • Mobs respawn! But it takes a little bit. Still, it means that it’s worth it to go to areas after people cleared it out and left.
  • Fight stuff until the Plunder isn’t coming easily anymore, and then either sacrifice yourself to someone foaming to do some PVP or, my preferred method, give your body to the storm and get into a new game
  • Lather, rinse, repeat

God I hate Sushi.
Anyways, I went to a Sushi bar today and it sucked.

???

Like what is the point of this thread. What is it you’re trying to converse?
It’s a PVP Mode. You despite PVP. You didn’t enjoy it.
1 + 1 = 2

All hail the Storm Wall.

I usually hit a clump, get 2 powers, kill elite, have a 3rd, and then I’m kitted out for if I need to defend my starting location or I just efficiently clear the whole thing out with my powers.

I feel like if I, for example, land at hammerfall and either win the power struggle or get it to myself I go on to win most games.

This is the way. Thanks for typing this method. It’s what I did the first season of Plunderstorm and is working this season as well.

I might add that if you die in the first 30 seconds just queue up and don’t let it bother you.

It’s always going to be around the edges of the map. It will start to close in every so often. You won’t see it until the first “close in” then you should see a blue dotted line telling you where the edge of the storm will go.

No sexy outfits for the female toons so not interested.

Add a Boris Vallejo style bikini in there and I’ll reconsider.
