They’re free to do it, for no rewards other than being able to play it.
When your reason is that raiders should have to do it, it is rather hypocrite to me to say that I am selfish.
That’s rich when defending LFR which is antithetical to many mmo values. Moreover when you want to affect other people negatively, making it sound like I’m the only one that want this or that you represent the majority on this for me is simply not true.
I’ve said from the start that I see both sides of it. That there are points for and against.
Yes I think it’s a terrible content to put in an mmo.
I also think it’s great for accessibility and I think retail story mode is even better if we go that way, why even have a raid if it’s only to see the content.
Don’t “have” to do it but they should do it if they care as you want them to carry you in that content. It’s hypocrite to say they have a choice if you want to reward them for it and I’ll keep repeating it. It’s even more selfish than simply want a good experience, you want a worse experience for others.
LFR wasn’t easy when it started it didn’t even have determination stacks and I remember in Soo groups that couldn’t kill Garrosh with 10 determination stacks. So yes some people really want raiders to carry them in LFR.
I simply asked for an explanation of WHY it should be. And the only response I was getting is, ‘So I don’t have to make a choice.’ Which seemed not a great reason to me. Maybe there are better ones.
But forum posters here tend to immediately get defensive when someone asks you to clarify your position. You just assume they disagree with you.
I’m also trying to take into consideration hardcore raiders who really enjoy still doing LFR. I think those players exist.
I was there for it. You and I have had very different experiences. Sure there were wipes and stupid things happening. That isn’t debatable on any level. The greater majority of folks that used LFR back then never really raided. Your point on this is just obtuse.
Very few would object to a carry.
I do not doubt this. Those are the people that want to get the 4 piece to boost their main raid stats.
And I would let them queue, you simply wouldn’t be able to roll on loot if you’re locked already.
Yes like how it took so long for you to explain your stance when I have explained mine many times, you simply feel I’m more selfish for wanting a better experience. You feel it’s better to reward people for doing in general boring and terrible content for them. While I’m sure you can find some heroic raiders that enjoy LFR that is certainly not close to any majority.
I also was there for it, if you didn’t get that experience then I doubt you did it much. It was something that happened a lot. People got many determination stacks when killing Garrosh. Sure not that many groups got stuck but some did still. I don’t feel there’s anything really complicated or strange about saying this. Moreover when that’s something that’s been said in this thread : that some people want to get carried through LFR, even if it’s already easy content.
I’m curious how you think they would do it another way?
For me this was the obvious way to do it for LFR as you’re queuing in wings you can’t choose a boss and having to form a specific group for specific bosses in LFR defeats the purpose. But if this works for you this works for me.
I hadn’t thought about it. Like I said…I didn’t have an opinion in terms of the lockout. I was trying to form one, which means getting info from people who have more experience than I have in such matters.
What I’m interested in is a system where players can play what they want, where they want. People like different content, and that’s fine. But there’s people who like all content, and that’s fine too. But I don’t think that should be restricted because some players (no offense) can’t control themselves. I think a fine balance is not rolling on loot. There are other reasons for hardcore raiders to use LFR. Blizz could add things. Things that aren’t associated to power progression.
You can see my achieves. It’s right there for you to observe.
Again, that is your subjective view and not something that I experienced. I made a valid point, one that cannot be objected, and you refuse it. How did you mad CC with such a one track mind?
I never stated otherwise.
That makes two of us and yet you proceed to make counter arguments when you’re seemingly having cognitive dissonance.
I haven’t read through the entirety of this thread, but I’m fairly certain that I’m the only one that said "
"
You’re simply presenting a strawman argument at this point. You’re just being difficult to be difficult.
I’m not sure if you’re just trying to be contrarian or passive agressive for no reason. When we mostly agree, I don’t see why you’re going that far? Did I hurt you or someone did?
There’s been a couple people that said they want high level raiders to run lower level content. Either because they think they should teach new players or simply to make content clearing better/easier.
I’m not. You have not made your opinion opaque so it seems like I have stated. You’re nit picking my posts without validating the rest.
We agree about some things, But I’m confused as to where you think I’m going “that far”.
Negative. You are inconsequential to me; as is everyone else (take no offense, clearly you are upset?). My time is my time and it belongs to me (as every player). I do not care how others spend their time and/or how they enjoy the game. Why should anyone’s opinion (mine, yours, et cetera) impede on how they play it and enjoy their time?
Ok, that is lower level content, not current. Show me the people want a carry through LFR. Please quote them so that I can read and digest that information. I’m not trying to be a jerk and I’m not trolling you. I just want some clarity on your stance.
I think he’s referring to LFR as lower level content. Maybe I’m wrong. And in that regard there’s a difference between ‘not minding’ hardcore raiders carrying the raid vs ‘wanting’ that to happen. But some hardcore raiders enjoy doing just that.
Who has ever said, “You hardcore raiders need to do LFR and carry us scrubs!!”
Does anyone think LFR really even needs that? It’s kind of faceroll. I think his argument is, once again, saying that we’re trying to dictate how he plays. Which couldn’t be further from the truth. He dictates how he plays. And having an option in the game means he makes the choice. And so does everyone else.
I couldn’t care either way. If I’m in an LFR with people in quest greens, whatever. If I’m there with people in bis gear, whatever.
That is what I love about LFR!!! I get to see a frost DK in frost presence and whisper them to try unholy presence. I have the chance to tell people and give them advice on how to do and be so much more without being a “richard head”. I just did that tonight on my rogue and the other person was grateful for it. Their reply verbatim was “Thanks, I haven’t played since mop <3”. That person just massively increased their XP per hour (I hope).
I had to quote this. That is such a great and fun atmosphere. It’s what drew me to mmorpgs in the first place.
The hardcore content has its place, but so does stuff like LFR. And you’ll experience things you won’t in any other aspect of the game.
It’s also nice to be able to play whatever spec you want and not have your head torn off over it. An actual chill, relaxed experience that some players might prefer.
