Pretty much what I tried to say in another now deleted topic. So many of these people in these various groups want “equality” but then turn around and want special treatment, special holidays, ect.
That’s NOT equality!
I then tried to point out how I’d be called all kinds of wonderful names if I started making demands for Straight Pride Month, All Lives Matter, ect.
Got a nice lecture for my trouble.
That about sums it up. I play various games to try and forget about the real world for a bit. I’d rather be downing raid bosses, farming transmogs, and sometimes jump into a battleground/do world PvP.
I don’t need reminders of the dumpster fire that is the human race.
One of the more amusing things I’ve seen was a Tim Dillon ( gay comedian ) podcast where he joked about going back into the closet not because he was afraid of any discrimination, but because he didn’t want to accidentally be associated with any of the absurd identity politics.
The movement and it’s tactics have become more like a intolerant religion and people really need to take a close look at the historical company they’re keeping when they feel justified in silencing people for criticizing it.
it is quite funny. representation hmmm idk about your server but mine is full of all kinds of things and representation discords open chats about stuff so idk maybe quit whining and make your server lgbt or whatever else you wanna be it wouldn’t be to hard to do if you actually put some effort in instead of bugging blizz nonstop when they have done plenty lol.
And yes i am bi and guess what black to and i got one thing to say some of you are just flat annoying with all the crying here about this stuff and oh i need more.
Better idea, you and your ilk just be players in the game like the rest of us. Be human fraking beings . Neither you or any other special interest group are special snowflakes.
Imagine wanting to normalize something while also celebrating it during parades and other events in the most degenerate and inappropriate ways in the public eye.
Wanna be inclusive but demands LGBT only areas lmao. I mean if you wanna be like “other people” then be yourself. What makes it look bad is these demanding crusades and it irritates people. Like honestly, why do you want us to know your sexuality so bad, what will it serve in this video game? If you’re gay, Mexican, a woman, a tentacle monster, helicopter or whatever cool, as long as you’re chill and just a decent individual then I don’t care what you are.
yea man its a split in the community.
some just want to use it as there personality others just think of it as there sexuality and nothing more.
its weird.
As a tauren, I live in a dark and confusing world of doors that are too short, hats that clip on my majestic neck hair, people who outright refuse to take me shoe shopping, and mounts that completely obscure clickable items for my party.
In this day and age I think that more tauren representation is clearly needed. I would like a Hoof-lord title and a 2 handed totem weapon to represent my dedication and status as a tauren. But I would also like these to be optional as many tauren do not share my openness and wish to represent myself based on this single descriptor.
I know theres a great deal of hatred and unwelcomeness directed towards tauren in Warcraft, whether were dealing with someone’s bad experiences with the Grimtotem during not one but two 20 minute escort quests, or the intangible and nearly palpable dread our representation in rule 34 pictures no doubt inspires across all mankind.
I also know that there are some obvious flaws in out society. Theres the vague and strange representation of all evil tauren (feltotem and grimtotem) as having a certain fur color, and the silent acceptance of our people in allowing all the grimtotem to be permanantly banned from entering Mulgore based on this prejudice. We aren’t perfect but I think that when you look at us in the big picture were just the same as everyone else, most especially the humans.
Were also extremely misunderstood. The Night Fae gave Huln Highmountain the title “horned hunter” when he has antlers instead of horns. For those of you who don’t know the difference: horns are protuberances of bone, while Antlers are basically modified hairs made of a protein called keratin. Very different structures in all aspects, but I guess we all look alike to non-tauren.
Then there’s the derogatory comments we face in forums, trade chat, and even party chat with our so called friends. Canibalism is NOT funny, and please stop saying “Burger” “Steak” or other meat related slurs, even if our role is being a meat shield. I would like to create a culture of tolerance where beef and other meat descriptors are no longer used in relation to us at all. And just because you saw a tauren saying “My Meatloaf” to another tauren doesn’t mean it’s ok for you to use it. That is OUR word.
I have no opinion one way or another as to the sentiments of the original post, but there is a gay couple that feature heavily in the night fae campaign, and there is a trans woman I believe who is a quest giver in bastion. It was also pretty heavily hinted at in BFA that the Flynn guy and Shaw were attracted to each other, making them at the very least BI. Those are definitely indicators that WoW is inclusive, and that it has been moving more so in that direction in recent years.
Does no one else get tired of the nonstop badgering from identity-obsessed players? I literally don’t care about your identity and I treat you and judge you just like everyone else. Going on a constant crusade for special treatment is not the way to win me (or anyone else) over.
This is so true, not only in game, but IRL as well. I don’t care one way or the other, but I’m not up for discussing it, no matter what anyone’s preferences are. I find it’s a subject best left alone, period.
I feel this happens because people want to get a reaction. It looks like a form of attention seeking, but also it’s people needing to know where they stand with other people. It seems like (and I say “I feel,” “looks like,” and “seems like” which means it’s how it looks to me, and my own opinion) they want to see whether they’re accepted by other people, so they know what group to put those other people in. In essence, it’s a reverse judgement, and searching for a reason to hate or feel victimized, IMO.
In the end, if everyone just left it alone and quit poking at it, we could all just accept it and move on, I think.
