The pet wouldn’t be granted via the collections system, so saying that it’s a part of it makes as much sense as noting that T1 is part of the collections system too.
Whether the pet is granted by the collections system does not remove the connection those pets share with that collections system.
If I travel from City A to City B via train, that does not negate the fact that cities A and B are also connected by highway. I never used those highways to get from city A to city B, but they still exist and connect the two cities.
Those players who purchased a CE will still have their pets–IN RETAIL. Those pets will still have their rarity–IN RETAIL. No one is trying to take the pets or their rarity away.
To be fair, they added a retroactive Digital Deluxe for Wings of Liberty years after it came out where people who never got the physical CE could get the pets in WoW so why can’t they do the same for all the old WoW expacs? I would love a Digital Deluxe for Classic onwards for expacs I wasn’t able to get the CE pets for. I love the Netherwhelp but never managed to get a TBC CE.
What is this thread even about? A blue said don’t count on it happening, and it’s not worth discussing…yet a certain poster won’t give it up and a bunch of people keep feeding him. If it wasn’t entertaining, it would be depressing.
But they did it for Wings of Liberty CE which did not have a digital deluxe until Legacy of the Void time period when they released the 3 in 1 collection. Blizz themselves opened the door to getting previously only physical CE pets through digital deluxe devaluing those who purchased Wings of Liberty CE.
If they can do it for that game I don’t see why not for the WoW expacs that did not offer digital deluxes.
Using “classic” to get things in your retail game is CHEATING. If Blizzard wants you to get things in regular WoW, they will offer them in regular WoW. That is what you should be requesting, not this.
You can’t get mounts in Overwatch and use them in WoW. Classic is the same: it is a separate game. Period.
There has been a large amount of player demand for a game that matches Classic WoW, like it was many years ago. Classic is being offered as a response to that.
Classic is NOT being offered as a way to CHEAT in the regular game.
While we’re on the subject of linking Classic and Modern WoW, I have a modest proposal–let us transfer our current BfA characters from modern to Classic (for a fee, of course.)
I want to play as my level 110 Worgen Hunter against a bunch of level 60 players. You can charge a large amount of money so it doesn’t get abused–say, about $5,000.
