As bad as we thought the game felt in previous expansions, id argue it feels like it is at its worst right now. I dare say I would take BFA over this (maybe not corruption gear tho lol).
Edit , if your response to this is that “nerfing damage will get us back to BFA”, given how high damage is right now, blizzard could call in a tactical nuke on damage numbers right now and wed still do more than we did in BFA. Damage could take a few more nerfs before we worry about getting back into BFA
my warrior in honor gear, including weapon, was doing 50-60k MS crits (on the pvp dummy). Same warrior in “almost” full conquest gear and 2 set is doing 110-120k MS crits. How can the damage be doubled in only 1 tier up?
That’s the sort of jump that should be happening when you are going up gear from 2-3 seasons.
The stats on everything needs to drop, but I think it would seriously wreck the balance of things. If it was in pvp only, world pvp would be busted, people could jump you while you’re attacking pve mobs and just let the mobs kill you because of your damage nerf that’s active. If its just in arena and bgs then going to the world will feel really janky.
It’s pretty crap but honestly it feels like they need to double or triple that 2set trinket bonus.
But then bursty classes with low utility will cry they can’t kill anything and need a rework so who knows.
Saying that you cant fix X because you would break Y is an argumentative fallacy, suggesting that any potentially cascaded issues couldnt be forseen and preempted is nonsense. The game already has separate tuning between pvp and pve with the PvP trinket set bonus and the separate damage tuning that already exists between PvE and PvP, they just need to tune it harder.
Man that’s the truth. This nuclear arms race resulted in a mutually-assured-destruction scenario where everyone seems to be frustrated, sometimes for different reasons.
Sometimes “too much” really is. Too much damage, too much CC, too much everything.
if only every class got their own separate 4 set with cool effects on the gloves that was useful pretty much exclusively for pvp with emphasis on utility for the class in pvp and only active there with the inverse true for pve

Can you imagine the patch notes of; we’ve nerfed damage for everyone in pvp by 50%, as a result we’ve reworked Demon hunters, Unholy death knights, fury warriors, windwalker monks, and all healers.
All the ‘zug’ specs would need an overhaul because you can’t zug anymore and would have to win games with either mass CC chains or ooming the healers. Which I guess means you would need to nerf mortal wound anti healing effects because they’d be OP now.
Earthen down on my resto shaman with swelling waves with precognition up spamming healing surges with ascendance up and I can’t outheal one assassination rogue
Damage is off the charts and its literally possible to cc chain a player out while you nuke his buddy.
Cc duration is fine when there isnt crazy burst but it feels like an eternity when every man and his dog can 1 button 33% wipe your hp in a global.
I have no idea how to fix it because some classes dont have burst they have steady damage.
I agree with the guy above pvp felt less crazy when everyone had blues. The damage from blue to purple is wild and the hp difference doesnt seem to match it.
Season 1 bfa damage was actually pretty good, most of bfa’s issues stemmed from pve gear and corruptions aswell as overtuned healers making games last well into 50+% damp

you are just claiming things out of thin air. These classes have worked fine in the past in different damage metas. It still goes without saying, that the multibillion dollar game studio can balance this. Citing how difficult it would be as an argument against change is a symptom of the mind virus.
