Please make the Legion Mage tower druid forms obtainable again

Every class enjoys new transmogs and cusomizations each expansion—except druids. Our play style means even with new tier sets many of us are still spending 90% of our time in forms that haven’t changed since vanilla.

The reason there is so much contention about these forms is blizzard relieved some of that pressure for a short time, then locked everyone else back in the old box.

The solution is obvious. Druids should have new forms. With every expansion. Like tier sets. Hopefully with customization options like dragon mounts, warlock pets, and balance form.

This game isn’t intended to be static. It’s meant to evolve and be fluid. And that’s especially true of the most popular class in the game. So blizzard, how about keeping it that way and showing some love to an old bear with tier skins?

See, lying like this just makes you look foolish. Why say something so blatantly false…

If you disagree with my statement, you can make that argument without being … unpleasant… about it. I’m not accusing you of lying by omitting the fact that I said “many of us”–maybe you can take an edge off your reaction as well? Try to understand my point and speak to the point.

Sure, there have been some minor tweaks and some of us have have acquired legion forms. But that “many of us are still spending 90% of our time in forms that haven’t changed since vanilla” seems true to me.

Consider a warrior as a contrast, whose appearance changes with the first dungeon drop they pick up. Who gathers many transmogs each season and carefully crafted tier pieces each expansion. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest Bliz put as much time into crafting a seasonal or expansion form (or skin) as they put in a tier set.

I’m going to assume you don’t grasp the idiocy of this argument because not only do druids get to acquire new gear anytime any other class does, recent xpacs have also added new forms. There are a lot more forms than just Legion, you being too lazy to go get them is a you issue.

Wow. You didn’t just have a bad day… you really are like that. Too bad.

No, I don’t think it’s idiotic to say the number of possible druid forms out there are less than the number of possible variations in a warriors armor.

And I’m pretty sure you grasp the fact that a druids armor is rarely seen in most content they explore. That’s the “playstyle” I meant in my original comment:

“Our play style means even with new tier sets many of us are still spending 90% of our time in forms that haven’t changed since vanilla.”

A comment which you haven’t giving me any reason to reconsider. Wow is a fluid and continually evolving game. It’s a whole world in the box. Part of growing and just living in this virtual world—part of the joy of the adventure—is changing our appearance. It’s why transmogrification was such a winner as a game feature. It’s why we love reconsidering our talents, trying new strategies, and getting drops that both grow our player power and let us tweak our game face.

Can’t think of any class more thematically linked to the idea of fluidity of form and change of appearance than a druid. I stick to the original request. Bliz, please help the changeling class embrace that joy by considering new forms with new expansions. Or at least new skins on old bones. Thanks for listening.

I also have all the Mage Tower forms. I also think they should all come back.

So I didn’t have a druid during legion and I don’t have the forms from Mage Tower. I can relate, however, to those that do as it feels almost like the druid version of Benediction and Anathema which I do have and seems just about every expansion there is a “bring it back” thread running around.

I’ll say the same thing about this as I do about that. If Blizzard wants to release an updated/uprezzed version of it similar to the tier 2 uprezzed armor they did for the anniversary I’m fine with that, but leave the original alone. If the desire is just to have a given appearance than you should be fine with having something that is technically better in terms of quality while letting those of us who actually got those rewards keep the legacy rewards we worked for.

So let me try to give a more nuanced description of my take…

The predominant argument to not bringing the forms back is that it takes away from the people who earned it during the Legion Mage Tower and makes the forms less special. Speaking for my own perspective, I don’t think that exclusivity is what makes the forms valuable. Even if it was, it’s not like reintroducing the forms tomorrow takes away all their value as an exclusive reward. They were still exclusive for seven years and people who earned them in Legion got to enjoy them exclusively for that entire time. I’d call getting something seven years early a reward.

For me personally, I don’t actually care that much about the forms themselves. I was (and still am) extremely fond of the Mage Tower. But I enjoy the Mage Tower for the challenge, not the appearances. Indeed, when I got all 36 appearances back in Legion, it wasn’t to use them (there’s more than I few I think look awful). It was to be able to say that I beat all 36 Mage Towers. I can still say that if the appearances were available to everyone.

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t care that much about using exclusive appearances to advertise my accomplishments to strangers. I generally only advertise my accomplishments to my friends and my guild. I’ll use the appearances if I like the look of them but that’s just the same as every other appearance in the game regardless of source.

We don’t need a more nuanced description; we got it the first time. Frankly, it doesn’t really matter if you personally don’t care if they come back.

The mage tower was announced as limited since its inception, and Blizz gave over two years notice to get the appearances you wanted because they would be going away. I don’t care if you didn’t play, chose not to get certain appearances, or whatever other excuse you think up.

Time gaited rewards are exactly that, it is a reward for playing the game and being a paying customer during those time periods. Gladiator transmogs and mounts, challenge mode sets and weapons, mythic raid achievements, these are all rewards for playing during those periods.

Advocate for new forms, but you don’t deserve rewards for not being here when they were provided.

Counter argument: i dont have any of Legion forms (druid wasnt created until BFA), and im okay with them not being brought back.

Not that i have a dog in this race, im just okay with limited time things being limited. If i missed it i missed it. Its not like im getting my 71 SS Chevelle brought back into mass production again either

Bro why you being so rude about it? I get disagreeing with my opinion but you don’t need to get so bent out of shape just from my posting of it. My goal wasn’t a big “gotcha” or anything like that, it was just to show my perspective and thought process. If that’s not something you want to read then you know where the ignore button is.

I’m going to assume you’re using the general “you” here because like I said earlier, I have all 36 Mage Tower appearances. I don’t need an excuse for Blizzard to give me what I already have.

I get that, but I also think that’s a stupid thing to reward. That’s not a reward, it’s a marketing scheme. I don’t mind things becoming harder or easier to get over time, I have no issues with Mythic raid mounts dropping to a 1% drop after the relevant raid rotates for instance. I just don’t like locking things away in the Disney Vault forever. :man_shrugging:

You’re free to disagree with my priorities, but I’m literally just sharing my opinion. I’m not trying to be right or wrong here.

Fair. My point wasn’t that the mage tower appearances should be brought back into “mass production” as you put it, I just don’t like FOMO tactics in general regardless of how large the window is. I don’t like things disappearing forever and I don’t let what other players do or do not have affect how I feel about my own accomplishments. I like the Mage Tower for what I did to beat it, not what I got after I did.

But props to you Grizzle for disagreeing with me without being dismissive or disrespectful about it. :+1:

And i 100% get this perspective. Its just never phased me. If i missed i missed it. Thats on me. Ill survive.

I have good news for you, the content is still available for you to experience! You just can’t have the forms because they’re gone and they definitely should not come back.

i have the original forms and i vote for add more recolors like yellow, black, white, dark versions of the original colors and maybe a rainbow version

Make all forms available to farm in game and add more shapeshifting skins

+1 for recolors of the mage tower appearences (I’m hoping for white, make it a true ghost of the Pridemother.

Even just some new colors on our base forms would be great. Only having 4 different colors to choose from on the base form is pretty limited.

Would be great if a generic skin for existing frames was available where two or three aspects were “colorizablreable” with (for example) hair dye made from incriptionist pigments.

Maybe a base color, highlight, and glow color. The explosion of Druid variety would be huge. Would be great to be in a raid with other druids and not feel like we’re all copies of the same player.

I dont even need a new form every raid tier (i mean it would be nice but basically double work for the druid devs). But atleast one new form per expansion would be nice ( not locked behind a 1% drop rate like the EmeraldDream, please?
