Please limit forums to 1 character per bnet account

please also let us ignore posters

Eh I only post on this character for the most part to keep all notifications in one place. Rest of the time its posting on a Classic 60 when someone says you don’t play classic etc.

The sock puppet brigading is getting out of hand again.

I wouldn’t mind this, though it’s not hard to ignore the trolls anyway.

Why? Are there any good reasons for this change? What are some good reasons for making this change? Even 2 or 3 reasons would help.

One reason against the change is clear: it helps players harass others.

There are A FEW players who attack the person, not their disagreeing ideas. They don’t argue – they attack. And those FEW players will badmouth that player in every other thread. I call that “harassment”.

The current rules let anyone escape harassment. The suggested change helps the harassment, which discourages players from expressing UNpopular ideas. And those ideas may solve problems in the game.

I personally have not solved anything. But I do think we need to encourage everyone’s ideas, so that players can solve things that Blizzard hasn’t.

Enjoy.

You mean besides the avalanche of rotating 1-post alts appearing in blue threads, posting and upvoting threads in an attempt to make an outcry look louder than it is in actuality?

Thanks! I agree 100%. I just never thought of that.

That’s a silly suggestion. Then people couldn’t ask for help or suggestions.

good change

Who you calling a sock?

I don’t think this change needs to happen. In my opinion, the only thing that matters is the message being said, not the speaker of said message.

Rules don’t just magically come out of nowhere. Rules are created by people thinking about and discussing potential rules which would help the community. That’s what this thread is supposed to be about.

I think there’s value in allowing people to post anonymously, so that they can speak freely. But within a single thread, people shouldn’t be able to post/like using multiple characters, just to make their own opinion seem more popular than it actually is.

I think there’s some delusion going on here -

Maybe I’m mistaken but I doubt that all these posts are made by a handful of players swapping characters to repost over n over. It’s more likely a bunch of people are upset.

I don’t entirely disagree with your point, but your reasoning is suspect.

Here’s a better suggestion (imo): Allow users to click a player portrait to view other characters they post on.

This would still allow you to post on your druid to discuss druid issues or your warrior to discuss warrior issues with the transparency you think is a problem

I mean, sure. Rules are made to fight poor behavior.

I just don’t see why this rule is needed more now than before. Or why players who want to use different characters should be punished for the actions of others.

Blizzard already has forum moderators who can see what account you are posting from. If they didn’t feel this rule was neccessary then, I’m not seeing a strong argument for why now.

The outcry only looks bigger to the players, Blizz with a tap of the finger can identify all characters tied to a single account.

It was always needed.

I am aware of your opinion, yes.

That’s not been blizzard’s opinion.

I read that one too, OP.

Please incorporate soviet union/communism into video games. Thank you.

It always has been. Blizz isn’t interested in any kind of actual discussion. They want the forums to look active so they allow the troll’s dream come true multiple avatar system.
They probably don’t even talk to each other over there. Just thinking up ways to get Bobby Gallywixx’s yearly bonus.
