Evokers are a form of sorcerer’s though. That is where the term evoker comes from.

Yes, and I keep reiterating that you can totally do that in the opposite direction to keep the original class fantasy while enabling it within other races and appease both sides of the coin.

Honestly, they will pull a paladin and just turn it into one thing. Prelates are cooler in lore than the animations they get in the game. Everything is so human.
Boiling it down to the literal sense, yes. But that’s how you would easily adjust the concept with the lore. Don’t see it as a bad thing, honestly. It adheres to a fantasy and keeps the original so that either one is a choice.
Only issue is that Blizzard is super lazy with their animations. Paladins with the sunwalkers and prelates using the same animations as the humans is just…sad. Even the armor sets is very human.

I don’t think they’re doing mental gymnastics at all. Just very confident in their outlook of how it works. Which is fine, everyone has their unique understanding of lore and don’t always agree with one another.
True, which is also why I think it’s going to happen anyways. (For better or for worse). Regardless of the correct handling of adding classes to other races or not.
Hopefully, they don’t do it with evokers. But knowing blizzard, you will just see a gnome just hovering and shooting lasers out their mouth with no animation changes.
That or just open the visage up to other races but keep the combat still in dragon form. IF anything, it would be the latter, which will make people mad.

Again, you don’t understand analogies. Because guess what was the inspiration for the evoker class outside the dragon aspects? Sorcerer’s form DND, especially the ones with dragonic blood.
