No this I agree with. I think it is so stupid that we don’t have wrath classic era yet and that blizzard hasn’t responded yet.
Literally the reason private servers aren’t extinct is this bad decision. Not leaving wrath era realm(s) for us is garbage, just like it was with TBC.
They left era, why the sudden change of approach?
Most likely because vanilla era wasn’t profitable.
And yet, there it remains.
They said they would always keep a vanilla up. Either there’s legal reasons to keep it up for protecting their IP or they’re regretting they said it.
Are you some kind of contrarian that wants to actively fight against keeping era realms for each classic expac to just prevent people from getting what they want? What is your motive here.
Just interjecting a little bit of reality into some people’s fantasies.
The guy that made this thread hasn’t posted since then (November 2023). I think it’s time to let it go.
Damn, that was harsh! But seriously, I get your sentiment. Hell, I would gladly subscribe to both a TBC and WotLK Classic Era server if it meant Blizzard would make enough money to maintain them.
That’s not how it works. There’s only one subscription for every version of wow. The two questions blizzard asks is how many new subs will we get if we add a wrath or BC server? How many subs will we lose if we don’t add a wrath or BC server?
Here’s an even better idea. In addition to having all 3 mounts in Zul’Gurub, Blizzard could even create an achievement for players who manage to win all 3 mounts in the raid. I have the perfect title for it, named after the horse racing event: “Triple Crown - Win the Swift Razzashi Raptor, Swift Zulian Panther, and Swift Zulian Tiger mounts in Zul’Gurub.” What do you think, folks?
I guess Blizzard can add a third question: “How many subs will we lose if we don’t get the realms back online during Saturday night?”
People who think wrath classic as a permanent option won’t make money. They are morons. Like plain and simple.
Like it will. It absolutely will make money. When you look at wrath private servers, and how insanely popular they are. Like, I beg to differ. But definitely a better alternative at this point. No paying a private server entity to provide me with a permanent wrath classic server alternative, even though I have been requesting permanent wrath classic since day one. Like I would gladly pay for one. But nope. Beep you mktaar.
And he never even tried to get going for the NFL feywaif. He could have proven himself. He is choosing not to. Like what are you talking about. His story is talking about regrets and wasted opportunities. Like bro. Stop downing and wasting time, and get out there and show the world and the NFL that you can go pro. He never even tried to do that.
I honestly disagree. I mean, the first mistake they made was making clone service 35 bucks. Like jeez lol.
Second was keeping every server up. No need. Just 1 to 2 servers is all that should have been. It gave the illusion that it wasn’t very popular.
A company started by 3 men who each contributed $10,000 start up cash that grew to be bought by Microsoft for $69 billion or some no name dude on the internet who does what for a living? Who to believe, who to believe, hmmm?
Ok feywaif. And has blizzard ever stated, umm yah. We aren’t making permanent wrath classic because it won’t make money? hmmmm. let me think… No. They haven’t said jack all about that.
All they have stated, is that, they aren’t doing permanent wrath classic currently. And are listening to feedback. So how do any of us know. Like they haven’t stated anything yet. Only vaguely that they are listening to feedback. I am just trying to unsuccessfully be patient.
And who knows. I might be wrong. But we really don’t know if it will make money or not. I think it will though.
And, until blizzard gives us a definite answer. People are going to continue to beep and complain about it until then.
So you think the management of a company that was just sold to blizzard for 69 billion dollars got worth that much but making poor business decisions like walking away from an easy profit and I think that what ever you or I might think of their creative decisions they became one of the most profitable gaming companies by their good business decisions.
I kind of do. That is the entire reason why microsoft was able to buy blizzard out in the first place lol. Like good lord blizzard entertainment wildly mismanaged.
That is the only reason why microsoft was able to buy them. The mismanagement. The sexual harrassment scandals alone cost them alot in stock prices. And microsoft had the 69 billion just lying around. Blizzard messed up big time. That is why and how they got bought. Plain and simple.
Makes me wonder how much it would have cost to buy out blizzard before the scandals. No one liked anything or anyone at blizzard during this time period.
Blizzard, remains profitable because society is set up that way for businesses set up long ago. Especially when a majority of the worlds consumers now, don’t question anything. Almost impossible for anyone to enter the competition now though. But, all they have to do is triple store mount prices and all that good stuff whenever a major scandal comes in. Pay the fines that they need to pay for. And they are still ok. Actually kind of surprising blizzard has any loyalty left actually. They abuse employees. And players also abuse the employees to.
Blizzard is just one of those companies. They define the to big to fall mindset.
And in all honesty. It has to do with supply and demand to. And until another mmo challenges wow. I am ultimately hoping a new mmo comes out, that just ruins blizzard. But until that day comes, bottom line, blizzard fans are here because of what this company provides. And no other company has a decent mmo actually. Not even close in my op.
Same thing with amazon. I kind of want a new amazon to take over that is way better, and doesn’t have the greedy corrupt business practices that amazon does. And until they do. Amazon will always be the king. Regardless of how stupid I think amazon is. But I feel the same way about america at large right now. To many narcissists and extremists have significant power right now. And I am just not a fan of that. As well as everyone getting softer and softer. I hate having to worry about other folks feelings. Or offending people. Like that is the dumbest thing ever. And gender and inclusivity politics are also really stupid. And it’s hard to support any company who embraces those political idealogies. Which every single one does now.
At the same time, blizzard entertainment is essentially the same thing as that scene in one of the spider man movies. The one where norman ozborne get’s fired from his own company that he started. The same thing happened with blizzard to in a way. They started out as a normal company. But turned into a crazy company, because everyone in power enabled a bunch of bad things. No one who originally worked at blizzard, even works there anymore. Mike morhaime himself, he left blizzard because it essentially wasn’t even his company anymore. HE didn’t quit blizzard because of personal life things or for retirement. He left because blizzard was getting terrible. The shareholders, along with the board of directors, had more power in the creative decision making process than the original people who actually cared. The people who actually created the darn company.
And now, everything that comes out blizzard related, is a shareholder thing. No quality control. Nothing of that nature. Just ship out a broken experience. I mean, just look at cata classic. How can anyone justify spending money on an experience that is that broken. And you still can’t do battlegrounds yet. Like are you kidding me.
Like in my opinion, making products that have no quality control to them or anything like that. And that somehow makes billions of dollarS. That is a sad, pathetic world to be living in if you ask me. But that is the world we live in now. And, I can’t change it. As I am the only one who feels this way.
Microsoft bought Bethesda a couple years ago for 7.5 billion. I guess they were even more mismanaged.
Bethesda was to, But bethesda was also alot smaller than blizzard. Does bethesda, have their own bloody con convention thing solely dedicated around bethesda games. No. They don’t. Blizzard, is worth way, way, WAY more than bethesda.
Still kind of curious why bethesda let them buy them. Blizzard didn’t really have a choice. They basically sold a failing gaming company to microsoft, a company with better public image. Although microsoft is still terrible. All american companies are for that matter. We just aren’t seeing the full scope of how terrible microsoft is yet.
People don’t really question why microsoft went pro abortion, for example. Well, I will tell yah why. It’s because it costs less to kill a baby than to keep a newborn baby. That’s all. Like litteraly had nothing to do with them believing in pro abortion folks. But so many people probably believed that microsoft was in it for that reason. Like no. It was all to keep a good public image and to save a ton of money.
Think about this though for a moment feywaif. I can’t even think of a game, from bethesda, that even has half the mark that blizzard made with with world of warcraft, among other blizzard games. Wow was inescapable. But no one was talking about elder scrolls oblivion quite to the frequency and scope that people were talking about world of warcraft.
Bethesda just isn’t as big or profitable of a company as blizzard or microsoft. Hence why it was cheaper to buy them out. I don’t think microsoft should be allowed to buy any more companies out though. We are heading straight towards a monopoly sooner or later.
