this definitely will not be allowed just fyi be prepared to reroll
Reroll is the better way, imo. We wanted fresh RP, thatâs fresh RP.
It should just be a RP server I primarily say this because as SoD proved people just went to the âRPPVPâ server to skip queues and ruined the experience for the actual Roleplayers.
No. Playterbase is spread out enough
I agree, but RP-PvP seems like the best chance at actually getting something RP because itâs what the most people seem to want.
And I donât think queues have really been that bad this go-round, Iâm more worried that frustrated faction-locked people would do the same thing.
By this point, if we did get a realm I doubt that it would struggle from factors like this; the main realms have calmed down and most players have made their characters. Any players who might join it for the lower population would be in small enough numbers that it wouldnât be a concern any more than it is on already existing and successful RP realms.
A lot of classic roleplayers find the PvP element of these servers to be very important to them; a PvE RP realm would inevitably have a lower population than a PvP one, and by this point it would probably be best for any realm released to have the greatest chance for a large playerbase possible.
The SoD RP-PvP server was brigaded by malicious streamers it was an anomaly. no reason to think itâll happen again here. Streamers are already at home in their servers.
PvE RP makes no sense how do you role play when you canât even stab a hordie
I mean, it works perfectly well over on retail. The PvP aspect of classic RP is fascinating to me, though. I wish we were in a situation where asking for two realms would be more feasible; I just donât think that the present circumstances would allow for it.
I agree. It might be cope, and I find the odds of us getting an RPvP server (or RPvE) low for that matter, but I do think if we get one now, the wait might have been for the better. There would be less people rushing in due to queuesâthough, I think there might still be a number who would want to try to get their name or I hear thereâs still Horde locking issues, and it would mostly be dedicated people. It would also give people who missed the initial launch for any reason a bit more time to catch up.
A lot of people want to RP more casually or focusing on things other than the enemy faction as their primary entity, rather going on adventures and such. And a lot of RPvE people do still stab the rival faction, just with flagging or designated RPvP events
Also itâs kind of hard to mingle with people out in the world when youâre under constant threat of being ganked and camped.
Any type of organized RP event would be crashed by the opposing faction and just turned into a massive brawl. Might as well just play on a regular PvP server if thatâs what youâre into.
well in a perfect world weâd have both but it seems at best we can only have one, and that should be PvP for maximum player interest
one thing I noticed is they only released a PvP realm for OCE. must really stink to be an OCE PvE player lol.
Yea, Iâd rather have PvP than nothing, I suppose, even though Iâm really bad at it lol
Lol. Thereâs 10 layers on each server at least. You canât even play with everyone on the realm.
You can in fact share. You wouldnât notice the difference.
But thatâs the beauty of an RPPvP realm. If you get attacked by the opposing faction, not only is it less likely to be repeat ganking (because itâs out of character to kill someone you just killed moments ago), but youâre more likely to get reinforcements to help you, because RPPvP guilds and even solo players seek out PvP opportunities because they represent territory control from an RP perspective (or just an opportunity to use RP emotes and macros), whereas PvP guilds on PvP realms are mostly about scheduled capital city raids at best and battleground premade spam at worst.
It seems to me thatâs a rather romantic view of it, I canât imagine that it doesnât devolve into just mass chaos tbh, but I suppose you know better than I.
And Iâll have my chance to find out firsthand if we actually get a realm!
Thereâs always that possibility, but generally no. Most of us recognize that both sides should have a fighting chance. Because if they donât, theyâre probably not having fun, and will leave and not come back. And when that happens, nobody has any fun.
Consider how most PVP servers died off in Classic because one faction overpowered and bullied the other off, yet Grobb held firm and relatively balanced. In the early days, some heroes like Drooler would reroll to the low faction just to even the odds. Then I remember when all the transfers came in boasting they will drive the alliance off Grobb tooâŚnever happened.
The other benefit to being the last standing RP-PvP server? You canât just bail for greener pastures, there are none. Itâs the best home youâve got and you fight for your place.
I remembered I was both factions for Classic and could not remember why!
Thank you for reminding me.
It seems I am back as the underdog faction again.
Youâre making a pretty solid case. Iâll totally check it out if we get one.
