This is an alliance thing. They do not socialize on PvP and Pve servers. They never do run by buffs. They won’t invite for kill quests and just fight you for tags. Honestly try horde and it will be a completely different experience.

With how hard they’re pushing for mega servers? You may be right, but at this point I would just expect them to set us up for failure in whatever way they could.
Wait a week or two, let people get really settled and like halfway into the leveling process… then open a new server with no transfers so when its low population they end up closing it and saying, “See? We told you so.”

I wouldn’t want to transfer anyway. We wanted fresh RP, I’m getting Fresh RP if they open one up.
I’m not a raider or anything so I’m not beholden by a guild. I got nothing but time.

Our RP guild rolled on the PvE server. But we were sad to see no dedicated RP realm.

This truly reads like an article from The Onion… and yet here we are.
Please add an RP server. There is nothing like randomly running into another person with TRP and roleplaying. There is nothing like seeing a map of Azeroth, with each location covered in emblems, flags, and names of the guilds which call that location home and vow to defend it. There is nothing like sitting in the cross-guild council, watching orcs and tauren and trolls, and even undead people discuss the future of the Horde.
Having a high percentage of roleplayers on a server makes the world feel alive. RP servers provide a special experience which cannot be replicated on other servers.
Please add an RP server.

In lieu of a proper RP server, Nightslayer horde folks are welcome to seek out Kagg. Only have a small crew so far and he would love the support.

I agree. I understand the phasing technology, and t hem fearing people will leave and they have a server to handle. But, thats what connected-realms are for.
RP and RPPvP realm, is simply 2 to add. We’re always used to a slightly smaller population.
I just like the communities of RP realms much more.

it’s all about the money.
It costs the same to host a Chaos Bolt sized server as it does a Anniversary PVP sized one, except the 50000 pop server has 50000 people on it.
Only 2024 Blizzard could release a Fresh Classic that I have absolutely no interest in playing. The PvP server community is sticky as hell.
Oh well, see you in 5 years, I guess.

People keep saying this but im not convinced it takes a lot of money to host a server at all. Or if it does its probably pennies in Microsoft Blizz’s budget.

Especially when they leave a bunch of abandoned servers running? Era does not need all of its servers still. Shutter a couple and open new ones fresh for anniversary. This shouldn’t be a difficult thing.

The issue isn’t Microsoft Blizz’s budget, it’s the Classic team’s budget, which I imagine is probably on the shallow end of the money pool.
But, even then, the way they were opening servers left and right back in 2019, it doesn’t seem like it would be a massive expense.
I’m not sure this one really boils down to money so much as it does someone’s desire to show off their megaserver and layering tech.
But it certainly is baffling why they’d just choose to purposely leave out a server type they’ve supported in literally every other iteration of the game for 20 years just out of the blue with no explanation.

Oh for sure, it has nothing to do with the game’s health. It’s an ego project for Tom Ellis to be able to brag about how big the servers are

I agree. They should just merge. Introduce surnames and have people choose a last name. It gets rid of the realm tag issue.
