Itās over boys. Didnāt happen. It is what it is. At least we can all enjoy watching the oce server die in a few weeks. Maybe they will repurpose it as a rppvpā¦

Iām not giving up hope yet, but Iām also not waiting any longer to get playing.
Getting set up on Dreamscythe and will stay there until we get an RP server, if ever.

RPing on the PVP server isnāt too bad.

I would still re-roll for a true RPPVP server.

Blizz:
Shuts down both rp servers in SoD, even though at the time neither were dead.
Refuses to introduce new rp servers in fresh classic.
Prefers instead a giant megaserver with 5000 people per layer and 10+ layers active. Where the average person has the maturity of a 13 year old.

Unfortunately, Blizzard is probably going to see so many players ultimately rolling on other servers and conclude that we didnāt actually want a realm that badly.
I canāt bring myself to make a character, it would feel too hollow. This is absolutely just me being stubborn, and I do sincerely hope that those who have elected to play on the other servers enjoy themselves and are able to turn a bad situation into a more positive one.
I canāt help but feel that World of Warcraft is never going to see another RP realm. They have evidently decided that we are a community too small to be worth considering in this sort of launch. Hopefully the day never comes when Blizzard might seek to move this new realm technology to retail; for Iām not sure that the existing RP servers would survive such a decision.

I really hate sitting on the internet lamenting but what Iāve seen the last 2 days is nothing short of appalling. The accepted ānormalā culture of the player base has gone well and truly toxic. Bullying, racism, sexism, ārapismāā¦ 20 years ago this type of behavior was shunned, no matter what server type you were on. Now the kind hearted folks attempting to challenge it are told to thicken their skin and mocked. Iāve heard you all talking about it in this thread but I guess I needed to see it to believe it. The tables have turned and the inmates are running the asylum. Amazing really.
How did we get here? I truly want to know. Where are the community managers that once slapped this type of behavior down? Are there any left? Is the game just a free for all of Free Speech Bros? Iām geniunley curious.

I havenāt given up looking for a friendly harbor on [A] Nightslayer but Iām close. If Iām not interacting with friendly randoms in game or world chat itās just not that fun. I was seriously hoping they would have an RPPVP server for Holiday week. I guess we all were.

and before anyone says itās always been like this, it really hasnāt. the current behavior of young gamers is on another level. iām tired of seeing the C word every other message.

I gave in and rolled a dwarf priest on Nightslayer just to feel something but expect my attention to wane before I make it to 60. Weāll see.
The effort itself was amazing and I appreciate everyone who added their voice. <3

It was a valiant effortā¦but the brave underdog only wins in lore, not very often irl, and never against corporate wishes.

I can only speak for myself, but Iāve tried both the PvP and PvE server, alliance-side, and have found the experience to be very lonesome compared to my experience with RP servers, and the community seems very fragmented, making it hard to decide which server I should choose, if I should just try to play both PvP and PvE, or to give up Classic Fresh entirely. There is some FOMO there in playing on either server in the first place to me, both as to whether or not we get a server if I want to miss out, and/or if we do if theyād allow transfers to it, meaning Iād be left behind.
Perhaps it is hopium, but I do still hope for an RP server of any sort, at this point.

We have Classic for the next year, I would advise anybody on the fence or wanting to play to just take the plunge. If they open a RP server then we just reroll, because letās face itā¦ they would never let us transfer.
Donāt let sunk cost blind you, if you end up having fun then itās not a waste of time, and at least you arenāt wasting your $15. Iām on Nightslayer, am still advocating for a RP server, and will 100% reroll if we get one.

Iām currently reading a book āThe Anxious Generationā by Jonathan Haidt which has been explaining their plight quite well so far. Itās not just parents, its also the rapid change in the way we interact as humans (basically not as humans). This change occurred and now youth of a certain age (and into adulthood) have had years of hindered brain development (in key social areas).

I would reroll on a PVP ā RP relm even if they didnāt bring it online for a couple of weeks.
Even though I donāt RP, Those servers seem to just be more chill And I enjoy watching the RP guilds. Emerald dream was a great realm.
