I don’t even want the megaservers. The whole vibe of classic was that you had a tight knit community where you could recognize people’s names while you pass, double so for rp content. Even if that community is small, megaservers are just a mass of faces I’ll never interact with again. Boring.

Even ignoring not having an RPPVP server this launch is quite subpar. The general chats are more vitriolic than ever, the respawns are either too few or killing you because 6 quillboar spawned on top of you, and the competition for tags has questing significantly slowed bc layers aren’t enough.
I miss grobbulus so badly. This is a pale shell and I hope blizz sees this to let us have something better.

As a bummer as it is with the lack of communication and results for RPPVP, I do not think it is in good taste to start bashing him.

Agreed. Personal attacks aren’t good, and we can very likely still have RPPVP servers if we keep fighting. It took five months for grobbulus. I hope it takes much less time than that, but there’s still hope.

Something similar happened on Chaos Bolt with the pool in TB.
We had cow soup for a week.
The war orphans were pleased.

I’m going to start leveling on Dreamscythe because honestly it looks like this is cooked for now. I’m not gong to deprive myself of the game I love over this one detail.
But, if at some point before the holiday break next week they come to their senses, then I’ll happily start over.

IMO, opening an RP realm over the next few days would be perfect timing. Most of the larger, non-RP communities have already selected the realm they want to play on, and the normal PVP and PVE servers seem to be decently stable, so an RP server won’t see a massive flood of non-RP players due to queue times or community gathering like we saw in SoD. While, at the same time, we’re early enough into fresh that it won’t be too painful to have to start leveling a new character if people want to swap to an RP realm.
I’ve never been a big fan of world pvp, but if they decided to create an RP-PVP realm over the next few days, I would absolutely give it a shot just to get to play with the RP community.

This is funny so I wanted to share. I logged onto Retail (WRA) to play for a little bit after deciding not to play this fresh on these servers because why not? I randomly got this pet at this time when I’ve been thinking this stuff over so much.
It describes my attitude with Classic perfectly. A tiny silver lining, I probably never would have seen it otherwise:
If Blizzard does change their mind on the server I’ll still play this, and I understand why some people are settling. Sorry for bringing anything negative into this thread, it’s just frustration.

This would certainly be the best outcome, but it’s after 11 AM in Irvine and I doubt there’s any movement on these types of things in the second half of a Friday, plus then next week is a holiday week…so the likelihood of knowing anything within the next 10 or so days is quite slim.
Ah, I’m in Canada, so I forgot it was a holiday in the US next week lol.
They are usually pretty good at spinning up new servers fairly quickly, so one can still hope!!
