I feel it’s strange to entirely eliminate RP servers wholesale - PvE or PvP alike.
The RP community for Classic is much, much smaller to be sure. No one with any sense will deny that! But there is still quite a lot of interest in Classic-era RP all the same, especially from older roleplayers.
It makes me really sad we won’t have any options for them. My wife and I had planned to roll our duo on the RP realm, only to be disappointed with the news there would be no RP realms whatsoever.
It would be nice if we could have PvE, PvP, RPPvE, RPPvP, and Hardcore. That’s still only five realms total, which isn’t a lot at all, especially if Classic Fresh draws in as many numbers as the original Classic release did! Please Blizz, don’t forget about us roleplayers.
I played on Grobbulus on my initial time playing on Classic, then on Deviate Delight since. I’m an officer in an RP guild on Deviate Delight and these interactions were crucial to my enjoyment of the Deviate Delight experience.
An RP-PVP server on the new fresh would be huge and I support adding one.
“Build your community, it was already said before that it was done on Grobb”
“Before” being the key word here, implying that when it was done before, it was done on a PvP realm, not a RPPvP realm. I’ve got my reading comprehension down, do you have your writing skills down? Or even critical thought, for that matter?
Roleplaying Servers come with rules in favor of the RPing community.
That includes Character Names, Guild Names, stronger anti-griefing protection, and repels the unsavories because of ‘rp’ tag.
The ball is in our court, our favor, and with the Roleplaying tag, is an advertisement to returning AND new players “This is where you will find immersion. This is where you will find likeminded players and community. Come here.”
We are talking about two completely different points in time. We are talking about the times that made Grobbulus, and gave it a big enough name to make it one of the servers that were viable enough TO transfer to.
We’re talking about a time where, because it (an rppvp realm) existed at launch, it fostered a healthy enough community to provide the reputation it had. We’re talking about a time where there wasn’t only 2 non-HC options to choose from, and yet it still got its reputation from roleplayers.
The mass transferring didin’t happen until WELL after that reputation was formed. If you were there, you’d know this.
We arent talking about anything, you took what i said and kind of twisted it?
I was clearly talking about when blizzard opened up free xfers off all of the dead realms and Grobb was the only medium pop realm to xfer to at the time, so everyone went their.
This has been my WHOLE point, that EVERYTIME we get new “wow” in whatever form Blizzard launches too many servers and history repeats itself time and time again.
Server mergers, free xfers…etc.
Its why i PERSONALLY think less is better, this fresh realm isnt going to hit those Classic numbers we had, it might last for a bit but its going to bleed players.
And Grobb already proved a server can coexist with RP players and NON RP players.
