They’ve seen it over and over. Kaivax even merged other request threads into this one before the Anniversary servers launched.
They’ve definitely seen it.

Which makes their refusal to answer us even more frustrating. It’s not like we’re some niche faction asking for some ridiculous change.
We’re the RP community asking for an RP realm. Two things that have existed to great success in every single iteration of WoW ever except this one.
Why?
Is there an RP server yet? Waiting for one to play.
Aren’t we all
What are you gonna make? Im thinking shadow priest who worships a big bullfrog loa. ribbit
Dwarf rogue. Using the Dark Iron skin tone with a backstory about how he and his family escaped from Blackrock Mountain.
A simple Ex-Peon who got radicalized after the Kul’tirans invaded Durotar who has learned that the only way to survive in Orcish society is to be violent and to crush the smelly humans because that’s just how the world is I guess.
Only hope i see is a fresh rppvp server for TBC
I suppose that would be better than nothing but it’s an awfully long wait. And it still doesn’t answer why they haven’t given us one for Anniversary.
I just thought I’d help add volume. I’m having a blast on Classic Fresh. But I would be absolutely thrilled, and would definitely re-roll, if they made a Classic Fresh RP-PVP server. Nothing keeps me more engaged with the game, and coming back to it, than the fun atmosphere and decorum of RP realms, even though I’m not much of a roleplayer myself.
Just seeing people enjoy the lore of the world, and engaging with people invested in the spirit of the game, makes for a much more engrossing player experience.
While I appreciate that RP realms are not favored by many people, to at least have it as an option would add a tremendous amount of value to Classic Fresh for me. And, I believe, would keep me more invested in playing into the future of the server.
Why is there no BLUE response on this yet???Lazy blues. Rppvp servers wouldn’t have layers or shards either correct?
I don’t know, but with this much outcry, someone who valued and respected us would respond.
You’re starting to sound like me from last week
Love everything about this post.
To be honest I haven’t been the most dedicated role player myself over the years, but Classic lends itself to it so well it’s a shame they’ve tossed to the rubbish in this launch.
Moo moomoo muhoo moomoomoo muhoo-moo moo. Moomoomoo moooo muh-muh-muh-muhoooooo.
It’s just about 5 o’clock on the West Coast and the Blizz offices are shutting down for the next two weeks, so I suppose this is just about the end of this for the time being.
Maybe they’ll come back from break with a new perspective on this issue?
Either way it would just at least have been nice to hear something, anything about what their official plans, or lack thereof, may be for the RP community.
But, actions speak louder than words. They’ve made it obvious we’re not on their to-do list or even their radar.
blizz be like congress…didn’t think this woke blizz celebrating the Christmas
Blizz it is time to show that you respect us and open the dialogue. Afraid we will go off on your for what you say? No, you’ve already proven how easily you can ignore us. Just give us a statement and put us back on ignore, it’s not that hard…
You’re talking to a brick wall, they’re shut down for the holidays.
And if they had anything to say they’d have said it by now. They’ve seen this thread, they’ve heard our voices, they either don’t care or don’t have anything to add other than what their actions have already shown.
I completely agree about Classic lending itself so well to RP. There are so many fun little roleplay mechanics that feel underutilized in non-RP environments. There are many things, like clothing and alcohol, that are fun to play with in a roleplay environment, that technically add no advantage (or very rarely add advantage) to players outside of that roleplay use.
Even the fact that different races have different language options, everyone has character emotes, etc. all seem like elements of the game that become increasingly superfluous outside of roleplay environments. RP servers feel like they really empower players to create their own fun and allow players to add their own value to the game. Value that players are willing to pay a monthly subscription to get to add to the world.
It feels like a situation in which it would only be to the game’s advantage to empower people to add more content to the game themselves. Obviously these mechanics are available on all servers. But, as many have pointed out, it seems clear that non-RP servers may even disincentivize this kind of roleplay investment from the player.
Maybe I’m overly idealistic, lol. Maybe the majority of the player base really doesn’t care about any of these things. As has been pointed out, it seems evident that Blizzard has no intention of addressing the RP player base for Classic Fresh. But, at least, it does feel cathartic to express, lol.
