There is still the faint hope that they’re holding out until all the non-RP’ers are settled into their routine on other servers.
We weren’t ever really told no, it was more like maybe later but we’ll probably forget.
The only real issue that remains, if that is true, is how many will re-roll if an RP realm is launched.
I know I sure will.

It seems pretty unlikely now…but like you said, nobody technically said no.
As much as I still hope a server eventually opens up, even if its for BC, you are giving Blizzard entirely too much credit lol. They’re not thinking at all about letting non-RPers get settled or anything. They just don’t want to launch another server to deal with, and if they end up giving us one its literally just an appeasment of “Fine, now shut up about it” and that’s it.
There’s no 5D chess grand strategy going on, lmao.

Lol I don’t know, everyone made such a big deal out of what happened last time with the streamers invading the SoD RP realm, maybe they decided to change it this time so that doesn’t happen again
I can’t speak to that personally because I wasn’t there and I didn’t even know it was happening until I read about here, as Ove never played SoD.
But if that’s the guiding principle then it at least makes sense…when Blizz is still so tight-lipped about it all it kind of forces the players to come to their own—usually entirely wrong—conclusions.

A server launched now would suffer immensely. Many are midway through leveling, some even close, or already at 60, getting ready for their endgame goals, working on alts, etc.
This thread is pretty much shows that they don’t even care to give communication directly to the Roleplaying Community, and forcing us on the PvP server which I have already seen upfront people harassing folks trying to Roleplay.
At least give us a direct answer.
‘We don’t think the RP community is big enough.’
‘We only care about Megaservers.’
‘I think Roleplayers are nerds and it needs to go away.’

I don’t care what the answer is. We just want communication.
What are we to expect in the future? Future games? Expansions? Are you going to wring out the ability to RP until its extinct?

You can roleplay on a PvP realm.
I RP my character all the time.

We have had people disappear into a different layer mid conversation, we have players who simply cant get onto the same layer for rp events, our last schedule rp-pvp battle fell apart instantly because it was split between tons of layers, and when we got on the same layer we were re-layered off of it.
It simply isn’t reliable with how normal servers work.

I feel like we’ve been around this bush so many times in this thread already.
There are tons of reasons why RP doesn’t work on non-RP realms. Not the least of which is the issues with layering you guys are having right now, but unless the entire server agrees to work together to make it as much of a living, dynamic world as it can be, then it just falls apart.
The RP rule set ensures the cohesion necessary to create the alternate reality that RP realms are supposed to be. You can’t have any meaningful in-character interactions while xXxGetLootzxXx dances around in circles screaming epithets and making Chuck Norris jokes.

I’m interested to hear more tales of what’s happening out there with folks actually trying to RP on the fresh realms. Hopefully it will serve to underscore the importance of having our own place to play.

This is more salt in the wound, tbh. They know that harassment is happening to RP’ers on non-RP realms and they’ve given us no indication that they care.
