Here’s the thing though, some RPers are also parse bros, they’re not exclusive things. When I’m saying people are entrenched, I’m strictly talking about other roleplayers I’ve discussed the topic with who are at the point saying they won’t reroll now and they think it would split the community too much, etc.
Roleplayers also play the game and are people with their own possibly limited free time, and they suffer from sunk-cost fallacy syndrome like everyone else. The longer they wait to possibly release a server, the worse off it’ll be. Unfortunately.
This is it, honestly. If we don’t get a server for some random reason around Christmas, it’ll have to be a wait-and-see thing if the population dips/rises/whatever closer to TBC next year. Who knows.
Maybe they will rebrand the OCE server as RP for us once it tanks enough.
And then lock it two months later because it’s an RP server. See, we told you so!
Really no such thing, they’re virtual servers now. Not separate hardware. There is hardly a difference.
Do scroll up just a few comments to my proof of being harassed for trying to RP on the plain pvp server. In practice, it is actually quite miserable. And before you say “don’t be a snowflake” why should we have to? WHY should people mock RP in an RPG and THAT be the socially accepted norm? We are just trying to play how we want, and passers by take offense to it instead of minding their own business.
In fact how about read the whole post before speaking against it so nonchalantly. Appreciate your attempt to rub salt in the wound, though. Free bump.
The fact that you think this is even a comparable thing to an actual, functioning RP realm is proof enough that you know so little about this subject that nobody here has to take your opinion for anything more than the pathetic troll attempt that it was.
This is the part that bothers me the most. The not knowing why they’ve just carved out a full chunk of the community without a word.
There’s a lot of people posting here since I last checked in that seem to have well resigned themselves to not getting a realm and maybe that’s for the best.
Yeah. Been half invested on the pvp server this whole time, knowing that even if they do launch an RP, at least some friends/guild are just going to stay behind at this rate. Because they put in a whole lot more levels than I did.
Yeah, holding off on starting wow classic up until an RP or RPPVP server’s up. I want to play, but the only time I’ve clicked with a normal server was when I found a guild that was doing RP anyways.
Yeah. Between the CM’s and devs lack of communication on a server that had more traction than OCE just to get ignored is a professional failure. This is just how blizzard operates now.
As much as it’s not fair the community didn’t get an RP-PvP server I do think it’s for the best. Streamers tend to flood them and create a weird sense of fomo on these server types.
That being said I would have probably rolled on RP-PvP if the option was there.
I’ve given up as well–I might be pleasantly surprised if there’s an anniversary RPvP server (even then, it might have the layer system), but otherwise, think I’ll give Era a shot if I want a Classic experience–either Grob (for obvious reasons), or Whitemane (if I’m not going to play on an RP server, I might as well play on one that doesn’t have the accursed layer system).
