People use AH addons to scan the AH and some of them have a function that lets you autobuy anything a fixed % below market value and repost it. My addon does but I don’t use it. I like it for the scan functionality and the tooltip additions. It tells me the value of trash in my bag so if I’m too full I can toss the cheapest garbage and pick up somethinng worth 10-30s or whatever.
I loved every part of this post but this one is my favorite.
Yeah. I hope you’re finding fun on Nightslayer.
I know lots of people who play to parse and that’s ok. What frustrates me is when I can tell the parse fans that it’s great that they enjoy that aspect of the game, but even so I like this other part of the game more. Often, instead of trying to show any empathy or respect back, it’s like talking to a brick wall. Even when they have gotten everything they want which is where there should be more compassion.
It happens on these forums a lot, but so many people are just here to troll (and I think a lot of it is because they are bored or are going through something not even related to the game). It’s more annoying that these devs place everyone in the same box, and it’s a shame that a realm for the RPs and more community-minded people has not happened with the anniversary fresh.
I wish I knew to what degree this was part of the problem. My knee-jerk reaction is to say that the devs think everyone wants to play like them and share parses on social media and this and that, but I think some of the other replies here are closer to the truth: They want to corral everyone onto megaservers and just be done with it.
Either way it reflects an attitude of insouciance at best, and contempt at worst, toward the RP community.
Still waiting, still hoping, still coping…
I see it more as indifference to the RP community.
They’re caught up in the parse culture, the competitive aspect, the populism of streamers etc. I doubt most of these people RP, and don’t understand why a separate community is best. Trying to RP on a mega server is opening up the chance for harassment, and the layering can ruin events.
If the corporate stooges say less servers, you guys can rest assured that the RP servers are the first to go. They can’t fathom players wanting to play differently than the current meta.
The biggest problem we’re now facing, obviously discounting the fact that we still don’t have servers, is that it’s been so long people are getting more and more entrenched. The people who are 40+ are already voicing the opinion that they don’t want to level from 1 again right now. We have at least a year for a solid community to build with the vanilla content, and then who knows how much more after they launch BC again!
Just give us one damn server, Devs. There’s 80k people on Nightslayer alone based on census data from addons and other third party sites. STOP FEARING A DEAD SERVER THAT DOESN’T EXIST YET.
Its more likely laziness, and not wanting to have to consider how many servers needed to avoid layering, then merging later.
Im in the 40s and would probably not reroll at this point or go to a new server if there weren’t transfers.
Yeah, as much as I really like RP-PVP and don’t mind a mid-size server community (Grobb and Chaos Bolt were both awesome) I’m not sure if I can stomach re-leveling at this point. I’m content with forming a pocket of RP-PVP players on Nightslayer, my main issue is the layering system makes it awful to try to organize large events or have long open-world skirmishes.
Transfers kill the entire point of fresh though. Would be a mistake to allow them to any hypothetical RP realms imo.
Like I’ve said elsewhere, I don’t see this as a bad thing, necessarily. It might be that they’re waiting for non-RP players to get entrenched on the other realms before they open one, hoping to avoid the brigading of RP servers as a lifeboat for players on dead realms or being taken over by streamers.
Imagine they open an RP realm the week Molten Core opens. None of the parse bros are going to ditch their current realms to reroll on RP, but the RP faithful mostly would.
Looking like I’ll have to cancel the subscription after the first month.
Regular PvP realm just isn’t it. Most character names are too immersion-breaking, and not enough of the RP crowd coming to the realm to actually form guilds and host events.
It’s depressing that a single realm with a particular label on it is apparently too much to ask of Blizzard.
Thinking that if we don’t get one soon, the next milestone to hope for will be TBC. Maybe interest will jump enough for Blizzard to notice. But if they offer boosts again, that might screw it up…
There are three realms for Anniversary Classic.
Hardcore, PvE, and PvP. There won’t be RP-PvP.
I totally would. If an RP realm opens, I’m going to be on it.
Where is Drinknblink to vouch for us. He would say all the time how “those dang Grobb mobbers are so bad at pve”…
Yeah, because we’re busy having fun doing other things OUT IN THE WORLD…
…of Warcraft.
Literally 20 vanilla servers worth. Twenty.
Not when the source realm is the fresh realms only. But they might botch it the same way they let Era xfer to seasonal by accident in the past.
I see what you’re saying but if the point is for everyone to start off on equal ground and all level up together, forming a community along the way, then allowing transfers would get in the way.
Just five minutes into my guild’s event tonight:

Wtb a server RP is not frowned upon.
That sucks
