RP just to disable layers is enough for me
RP isnât really compatible with the way layering works on Dreamscythe/Nightslayer etc. Blizzard couldnât care less about RP so they wonât put in the tiny bit of extra effort it takes to make it work (e.g. a server with no layers but a lower player cap). They are self-aware enough to realize how bad of a show it is, so they chose to completely ignore the community instead.
Posts that got maybe 10% of the engagement on here got acknowledged personally by Blizz devs. Not a single peep from them about RP however. Weâre mostly nuisance to them - âwhy wont everyone just shut up and play the game the exact same wayâ.
Pride is a funny thing. To give us a realm now would mean admitting they were wrong.
That, and knowing the second they comment anything, anywhere, they get swarmed by everyone foaming at the mouth about one thing or another. Tough situation and I somewhat sympathize for them yetâŚtheyâve had 20 years to get things right so why are we still left wanting?
I think this is a good idea; lowering the threshold on faction cap so it is a smaller total percentage of the over all population before they unlock capped factions for character creation.
Theyâve done it in the past. I donât think Blizzard is sitting up there with some evil plan to ruin RPâersâ fun.
My money is on that theyâre waiting for the parse bros to get so attached to the megaserver that they wonât want to defect off to an RP realm and ruin it for everyone. Those types of players seem utterly enamored with layering and stuff, so itâs unlikely theyâll brigade RP servers again, which is a good thing.
I think Blizz will come through for us in the end, I just wish theyâd communicate with us about it.
Would resub for rppvp
Thatâs probably the best argument anybodyâs given so far, tbh. If that doesnât convince someone then nothing will.
I think itâs a terrible decision not to include an RP-PVP realm for the fresh launch.
I want to huff the copium with you but I donât see it happening.
Not after blizzardâs announcement of the Anniversary realms.
They specifically said that megaservers are âThe best way to enjoy WoWâ.
There was a lot of moaning and crying from the Non-RPers who rolled on Chaos Bolt during SoD because they couldnât find a WC group at 3am on a Wednesday.
Aggrend specifically said they locked Chaos Bolt because of people with âlimited play timeâ who were complaining it took them a whole hour to find a group for a dungeon.
In my experience on Chaos Bolt you found groups within 15 minutes if you were playing at prime time and 30-40 minutes if you were playing at like 2am on a Friday night.
People who enjoy realms small enough to have a cohesive community are not who they are catering to.
Theyâre catering to the GOGOGO RUSH TO 60 BECAUSE RAIDING IS THE REAL GAME crowd.
and the retail players will 100% love it
And start screeching for it to be added to Classic. Like cancer, it grows.
Youâre also automatically bad if you donât like Retail itâs not because the game is completely different from Vanilla/TBC/Wrath, nope, itâs because youâre bad.
Not about to lose sleep over thatâŚ
Damn, I should be ashamed but Iâve been denied that particular careâŚ
I donât either I just think itâs funny that thereâs elitist attitudes around an MMORPG that was built to be a casual easy game and the hardest part of raiding was getting enough people together that had functioning eyes and fingers.
you donât care and yet you brought it up
Itâs fun to tease retail elitists.
Sorta like itâs fun to tease the parsemonkeys on Classic that complained so hard about losing World Buffs to dispel that blizzard added the first new item to Vanilla in 20 years.
Like sheep, they follow. They can compete parsing without world buff of course. They just need to agree to that restriction.
Also, shame on you Blizz for not taking care of your RP community.
Booooooo
Would resub for rppvp
Could unsub without rppvp
because of people with âlimited play timeâ who were complaining it took them a whole hour to find a group for a dungeon
What makes your whole post really sad is the fact that people can just boot up retail if they want that instant gratification kind of experience. This is supposed to be Classic and all that it entails, including every aspect that is a slog. Considering the timeless âyou think you do, but you donâtâ they always forget there is a playerbase interested in the old ways. Small realms are not the end of the world. It will thrive as long as players have a reason to be invested in its success. Something that makes it special. Something like an RP tag.
They can compete parsing without world buff of course
I lost a guild over those.
Yeah, they decided on PvE server life.
More to do in WoW than parse.
Thatâs the thing, and itâs not even that hard to make gold if you stick with what the market wants.
Early on and once people start getting to 60 you can make bank selling trade goods on the AH because people are trying to level up and they will buy 20 stacks of peacebloom which helps the new leveling players/people playing alts who can flip their mats if they need g for something,.
gold
Not sure how that came up but good point. Being a casual vs the AH bots that snipe all day or however they work it, there is a hard time to find a market on a megaserver. Too many other people have already thought of what you want to do. Cheap leveling greens is the only benefit right now, but that will dry up and completely flip once people have capped mains.
