The worst part is, they could’ve just linked the blue post in the first place, but apparently chose not to in place of stroking their own ego and insulting someone.
That blue post is also kind of old too. Even so, it’s clear from the post they only bother with people who they deem “weaponize” the system. What exactly that means I don’t know. Just like what does “trolling” mean.
They certainly aren’t banning people for switching alts and accidentally re-flagging posts, so there’s some sort of threshold that exists currently.

they most certainly are giving people forum vacations for that - I have seen a few people admit to getting one.
And also, I didn’t say No to your improvements - I only addressed this particular one because I know they have a system in place already for that.
I actually emailed them a week ago suggesting a few of the exact same things you listed, in particular the comments are needed.

Not always. I suspect it needs to be pretty blatant.
I’ve alt-flagged in the past by pure accident thinking my initial flag never went through because I was still new to how things work, and the alt flag got the post hidden. Only to switch back and find yeah, the post was flagged twice. I also didn’t understand why that was allowed to happen.
I make a point to make sure I didn’t already flag a post now if I browse on an alt so that I don’t do it again.
I suppose context also matters - if someone’s dropping racial derogatory slurs then I doubt anyone cares about who reported it. Who knows. Of course I’m not recommending alt-flagging. In fact I’m recommending that the forums actually prevent that very thing.
If you flag to bury a post it takes 3 characters. I accidently did the same thing awhile ago on a second character as you indicate and nothing happened but I wouldn’t recommend doing that.
That was part of my email - you used to be able to take your flagging back if you flagged in error - the system doesn’t allow you to do that anymore.

Which is why I’m hoping Microsoft reinvests some money into actual personell for moderation, also maybe to fix some forum limitations, compared to the older forum versions this one still has some limitations to work out.
