The current state of this forum every Sunday is a clear and obvious indication these forums need better moderation.

Especially lately with the body type/pronoun changes.

Its all set up to be intentionally vague, so the forum mediators/GM can protect some groups and slam others. If its the approved message, you can get away with anything. The TOS is got a hole’s in it big enough for a container barge to go though.

punish people who abuse the flagging feature. “I don’t agree with you” or “I don’t like this person” is a common reason people flag messages. The flagging system is very often used as a “dislike” or “downvote” option. It’s annoying and wastes everyone’s time. There needs to be a point where the false-flaggers are dealt with.

I blame the fact that so much of WoW’s forum moderation is done through a third party, and not even a third party of humans, it’s mostly automated.

No, it is not. I don’t get why you say this.

The ONLY automated part of forum function is when reports get a post greyed out pending Mod review.

Real life humans working at Blizzard are the ones who actually remove posts, threads, or apply penalties to people.

Those mods are a subset of the GM team and work out of the Austin TX Blizzard office.

and when it does it is still largely automated, you can “appeal” the automated punishment, but it is still largely automated and NOT run by actual mods for most issues.

The problem with current moderation, is that it is run by third party AIs, same as many of the more basic functions of the forums like likes. This is one of the reasons why these new forums have so many limits.

You can claim that all you want and will be wrong every single time.

Removal of the daily flag limit cap. It’s silly to limit toons to 5 flags a day. There are far more than 5 naughty posts made a day, and all this cap is doing is hamstringing those who are trying to help draw attention to the toxicity.

no, it was capped because people were mass false flagging as a happy trigger, your colleagues and probably yourself, abused it

Yes, I think you have to be very heavy handed with it in order to be actioned. I really don’t get in trouble on the forums often (because I’m an innocent baby angel who everyone loves obv) but I have been sent on mandatory vacay for doing this when I flagged someone who was harrassing me (being derogatory, slurs were involved, I was livid) I got my vacation and learned my lesson.

If you flag to bury a post it takes 3 characters

Blue posts confirmed it’s 5 in most cases, but they can increase the threshold for say a disliked streamer.

I recently had to do it because apparently i have a forum stalker who is false flagging every single one of my posts. Moderators refuse to do anything about it.
