Regardless of the reinforcement factor it doesn’t differ how players do AV than and now. The way in vanilla was played out is that people did myriad of different objectives. Taking the mines, towers and even handing in scraps, armor, blood etc. A lot of those people do not do anymore besides taking the towers and mines and just rush for the end and wait.
Wait you really think reinforcements don’t impact how players approach AV? So you think that AV 1.5 with reinforcements would play the same as it would without reinforcements?
That what I have been saying. Is that in beta/Vanilla people are going to do more things to gain the advantage. Same thing they did in when it was classic. Reinforcements just prevents the battleground from being 1hr+ longer than intended. NOW A DAYS reinforcements play such a minuscule part barely noticeable as people just rush to the end while a few stragglers get towers and mines.
I would also like to see the older version AV implemented. The BG was more fun when it involved all of the mechanics that were designed to be there. The quest item collection, the turn-ins, the summonable NPCs, the NPCs that were actually able to guard objectives… it all made the BG epic.
The beta testers could only play Alterac Valley. They could not even play the “normal” beta servers that are currently caped at 40. So obviously people would just “hang out” in the battleground for the week end, turtle for the hell of it and try some random stuff.
There was no honor, no reward and they were capped at level 58 with questionable gear.
If anything, the beta proved how empty the battleground feels, and how boring it is in this version. The outcome is almost always predictable.
The mines, the shredder quest were amazingly fun.
If this version makes live, I will reach exalted as fast as I can and never touch it again apart from the AV week ends. And for AV week ends, every one will absolutely rush it for the bonus.
The “no changes crowd” aren’t the ones shutting down the AV discussion. #Nochanges just means no changes outside vanilla. 1.5 AV is vanilla authentic, and only the trolls are twisting the narrative to imply that 1.5 AV is a change.
Hey if the #nochanges crowd really wants to talk about changes sure, let’s have 1.5 AV there’s some class balance changes I’d like to talk about as well, and I’m sure some people would like to talk about guild banks and…
Until then #nochanges means #nochanges and 1.12 as is.
