they should have done that when they turned BC into wrath. Im sure they could have freed up some of the lower pop classic era servers and turned some of them into BC servers, and also wrath at a later point. I doubt all the available classic era are filled to the brim with players. just give p

I’m sure they’ve heard it.
But keep in mind, it will be DOA.

Same please keep a server for Wrath
you know what would be really cool is if you could level 1-60 in Classic and do raids with people etc, then do 60-70 in TBC and do raids etc, then do 70-80 in Wrath
Or you could put things on a 3-year cycle… so Classic is next year, TBC the following year, Wrath the year after that… cuz I missed classic TBC and alot of Wrath this time around cuz of work

Just keep Wrath going. Perfect chance for a WoW2. No reason for Blizzard to repeat the same mistakes all over again.

Sure It might be, But so was classic era… Now look at it, Just because it wouldn’t instantly be 100% full pop nonstop every day from the start doesnt mean it wouldnt still at least have a population to continue playing it. I just don’t want to completely lose the option to play wrath like what happened with TBC.

The Classic Community needs TBC Era and WotLK Era servers available along with the playerbase’s original TBC Classic and WotLK Classic character copies made available.

Clustered together, just like Vanilla Era.

Rolling arena seasons every 16 weeks.

In addition, a rolling live full cycle of Fresh Vanilla, TBC, and WotLK Classic. Allowing players to progress onto the next expansion whilst also allowing players to have their characters copy over to Era servers of each: Vanilla, TBC, and WotLK.

This concept already exists as it was done with Vanilla Classic to Vanilla Era. As is similarly done currently with the Hardcore realms after your character dies, being able to continue onto the Vanilla Era server.

This is the only correct way to approach the Classic Trilogy of World of Warcarft.

The love letter we were promised.

More likely to get a SoM set to Wrath Era. Where you start at level 68 and then progress through the Wrath content to the tune of ~1 year. :pensive:

Completely agree. I hope we have the option to remain in Northrend forever.

Reasons to maintain Wrath Era servers:

  • Many ever-yesterday players (no offense) would most likely not move to cataclysm, even if modern features such as dungeon finder were removed, because they would not feel nostalgic about an expansion they even might have quit, back in the day.
  • Class Design, including Death Knight, was at its peak for the Era, e.g. Cata took many immersive RP things away.
  • Wrath does offer content that is not available elsewhere (Battle for Undercity, Many Quests that were altered from Classic but removed in Cata, …)
  • At level 80 you can solo many Classic dungeons and raids, as well as associated questlines, that will be altered or removed in Cataclysm. Classic Era does have this content, but exploring it solo is a far better experience imo.
  • If Naxxramas Classic (level 60 version) would be accessible (just like Onyxia 60 is in Wrath Classic), including Atiesh and Corrupted Ashbringer, it would add to a museum-like experience to Wrath Era. Same for the Great Masquerade / Missing Diplomat Epilogue Questlines, which would require a phased Stormwind. Operation Gnomeregan / Zalazanes Fall could become permanent features as well (I am not a fan of story-events that end up leaving a gap in the story-ark, to me there is no such thing as an unimportant side-story).

There are so many of us that just want to play Wrath indefinitely. Please don’t force us to go back to private servers.

I was genuinely taken aback when I learned that the transition from The Burning Crusade to Wrath of the Lich King didn’t allow for continuation on the TBC servers. My intention had always been to delve deeper into The Burning Crusade content, especially since I hadn’t had the chance to experience it at its launch fully. The fact that we were all ushered into Wrath without the option to continue in the TBC realm was quite disappointing—I had really looked forward to picking up where I left off in that chapter of the game.

I am stoked about the classic vanilla servers kicking off, and I’m enjoying my rogue there, but my plan with my characters was to have them progress through Classic, TBC, Wrath, and so forth.

Well, TBC is nestled in with Wrath for the most part, so not having ERA servers wasn’t the biggest deal.

Cataclysm really blows up the game world, talents, classes and game. Wrath and pre-Cata will be gone forever. It’s really mandatory to have Wrath ERA servers to preserve this content.

Otherwise, Blizzard will again be playing whack-a-mole with Wrath private server operators, and we all know how fun that turned out for them.

I agree 100%

Wait… are they seriously goign to close down wrath like they did TBC?? I don’t know why Blizzard is so stupid about classic. It makes no sense whatsoever. If there’s no Wrath dedicated server it’s the end of my WoW nostalgia. Is that really the official word from Blizzard?

There is no profit in a Wrath era server. By admission most of the ones advocating for one here say they will also play Cata, so that’s a sub that is retained. There are no more boosts or mounts to sell on a Wrath era server. There would only be a constant maintenance expense with a dwindling return each month. No matter how beloved an expansion is at some point you have done it all. When something stops growing then it starts dying.

I disagree with you. If the system were designed to allow copying of 60 characters to progress to 60-70 content, even with a fee of $25 for a copy, it would likely lead to growth. I play with a group of players on Classic Era Whitemane, many of whom have never experienced this game before. Classic is all they know. They don’t understand the other expansions at all. Essentially, we are depriving them of content and experiences. These players are unaware of what they’re missing out on. However, if our group exists, there are certainly others. Give them the path to experience wow expansions on their own time.
